I don’t have anything against those who take stuff, but I think the reason for these natty or not type videos is because it’s propping up an unrealistic body standard. The work ethic can be the same between someone who’s natty and someone who’s not, but one clearly will have an advantage and as a result maybe a more desirable build. If a bunch of ppl are doing exactly what someone else is doing who uses and not seeing similar results that could be discouraging. I think it’s important to be upfront about that stuff. Nothing wrong with it but be straight up about it, so we’re not putting ideas in young ppls heads about what to expect with just strictly hard work

I took care of myself, by eating properly, getting quality sleep etc. A year after I let my body go. Started sleeping late, drinking, using drugs, and eating like shit. After doing this for years I made a changed. Got back on track when I turned 23. I did started dabbling with steroids. Let me tell you this, I am nowhere as strong, except in my deadlift. I get flack for this but from my own experiences as an amateur bodybuilder and scrutinization of Mikes body in context with his age, experience and consistency, I sincerely don't believe this guy's on anything. He's got broad shoulders and fantastic inserts, but nothing seems unusually large proportionally to his frame. He's not as monstrous as bodybuilders that you would see in even the IBB, let alone the the IFBB. I'm in a beginner phase of training and can feel my own potential. I can feel that reaching his size would not be impossible if I stay honest and work hard for 10 years. I think a lot of the skepticism he gets is simply from people who are less genetically blessed and/or from people who decided that THEY couldn't reach that point naturally. They think it's impossible, so they'll be forever small.
@alymujahid29192 жыл бұрын
Yeah, finally some positive comment, I am always surprized to see why ppl grossly underestimate Mike's genetics. For me his muscle maturity and density is a give away that he is natural. I have guys who are on juice, are way bigger and have way rounder muscles bellies yet Mike 's muscles look so dense, as if carved out of steel. Then years of juicing never would give grainy look to ppl in their 50s, juicing will ultimately give watery soft, look as one gets to his 40s and beyond, The skin on muscles saggs, Just look at all IFBB pros, who when get into their late 40s or 50s, how saggy they look, Dexter Jackson might be an exception. Nevertheless, Mike's excercise principles are spot on, even for someone like me, who is into 25 plus of lifting. By no means I am huge, yet Mike's PB principles have helped me up my game a notch. So haters, work hard, and stop complaining.

Loving this episode. The question about why people believe they can't be great cause someone else lied to them and they believed the negative and gave up is such a amazing question. I have asked myself this a lot over the years. A friend that studied karate told me once, rather you believe you can or you cant you are always right. I think most people have a history of negative beliefs that have been put on them since they were children by the environment around them. I have had to change my personal belief systems about myself. Doing so is a huge challenge cause you have to constantly be proving to yourself that you can do and be more than what you are. Then when he mentioned the mind and belief I really related to that. If you do not believe you can be better than you are and you send that message to your body then it responds accordingly.

But what was it when he was young? You know the reference range only goes up to about 1000 now but not even 20 years ago it went up to over 1500. Just because he has a level that today is considered to be very good doesn't mean it wasn't much higher when he was younger. For all we know he might have been walking around 50 years ago with a total testosterone greater than 1400.
@AllPainNoGains2 жыл бұрын
Also, total testosterone and free test don't tell the whole story on their own. There's a genetic mutation called a cag repeat, which we all have, the length of which determines how sensitive we are to the effects of testosterone. Just like you can be insulin resistant you can also be insensitive to the effects of testosterone if you have a long cag repeat. This is why some guys can feel fine with a level of 300 while others can be symptomatic for hypogonadism with a level of 650 or 700.

@@brunocarneiro9688 this has nothing to do with men today being fundamentally different than previous generations, and has everything to do with our endocrine systems being bombarded with ever increasing amounts of toxins that can attach to estrogen receptors in our bodies. The male body makes estrogen from testosterone, and if you give a man estrogen you will not only suppress estrogen production but you will also suppress the production of the testosterone the estrogen is made from. You'll also suppress androstenedione and many other hormones as well. This applies not to just estrogen but to anything that can bind to estrogen receptors in the body. If the body thinks it has too much estrogen it will suppress the production of every precursor hormone all the way up the chain, especially testosterone.
