To be fair, Sac-Town is only ever actually mentioned once, in Honest Hearts. It definitely would've been better if no NCR city was destroyed, but of all ones to choose, Sac-Town is the safest bet since it's the one with the least info about it, thus the least impact if it's destroyed.

that is the issue with big story mods. I know its a bit late, but I did some digging, and it looks like Sac-Town is independent and not yet a part of the NCR, or some kind of like frontier protectorate of the NCR. Also supposedly Sacramento actually got hit by a nuke during the war so the town never had a large population. I know its still kinda dumb they nuked a whole canon town for the plot, so grain of salt.

The story goes that the reason that he went unchallenged was that he did a huge amount of the coding, including the all of the work on functional vehicles and cutscenes, and threatened to pull all of his work from the project if they didn't give him free reign on the NCR campaign.

I voiced the androids there. Yup, those are supposed to be Officer Parks from the Archimedes II (though I didn't voice Parks -- I assume the original VO was unavailable, so I filled in). Also, Zach making a Homestar Runner reference at 16:35 and 17:48 ("we're gonna have to jump!" from the sbemail about 'Dangeresque 3', which was released in June of *2004*) is an extremely deep cut.

To everyone who wants to hateplay this mod or play the mod that Mike suggested in the other video and feel like playing this since you're already there. I highly suggest downloading "Tgspy Changes" which makes the vertibird missions more balanced as well as removing several of the things Mike and Zach suffered through the most. I also suggest you optionally download "Frontier Add-Ons" which tweaks and adds-content that genuinely should have been in the main mod. I especially recommend this mod if you're one of those who are doing a New California, New Vegas, Frontier playthrough as New California made references to the Frontier mod while it was still in development. It also adds notes and terminal entries in the Mojave written by important NCR and Legion characters acknowledging that they are aware of the conflict and vice versa it makes it that the Frontier is aware of the tensions with the Hoover Dam. I have no affiliation with any of the mentioned mods. I'm simply sharing things that will make the NCR campaign more tolerable as even Mike and Zach acknowledge that despite the shit story, the scripting and effort put into some of the segments are impressive. It really sucks that so many talented modders and voice actors suffered because of one dude demanding the NCR's route be Call of WolfenSpace: The Line Solid.

It might be the fact that I'm a sucker for this kinda stuff but the section where people side with you is probably the only good part of the ncr campaign because it actually feels satisfying to have all the side quests you've done be rewarded in a unique way also Jesus christ they shafted Donovan and Edmond they didn't even get end slides like nothing at all

37:52 Zach makes a good point, you would think that the writers would have come up with some term to refer to the NCR Exiles to show that they are a different organization to the NCR proper Especially since you also come into contact with the Real NCR. They could do what the Brotherhood Outcasts did and call themselves Outcasts, or they could call themselves Expatriates, Emigres, or Exiles. I know that they see themselves as a part of the NCR and their organization is pretty much a carbon copy of the NCR Army with adjustments made to make up for the equipment they found in the Frontier, but still, they could have used a different term to refer to their own group to prevent confusion.

As far as Zach's question about how long it'd take to go from Portland, Oregon to Las Vegas, Nevada, it'd take around 16 hours in our time line with no traffic. So, probably in Fallout's universe, it'd probably take a day to a day and a half considering raiders, needing to refuel, dilapidated infrastructure. It'd probably be a day or two.

LOL, the crusaders questline actually makes the frontier a good place to live, they rebuild portland, and make the area a bastion of the NCR, they never finish the liberator, but they kill the legion and rancor, the space station is just nuked and everyone lives a better life because the two main factions work together and rebuild everything. In my head thats the canon ending for the frontier is the one where they NCR and Crusaders use their resources to make portland a bastion of civilization.

on a mechanical level, this mod is amazing but I do have to agree. if they didn't keep forcing the 'feel bad for killing people' angle and going with some of the weird angles in the main story, it'd have been fine. I think it's said bluntly by Rimmy, this mod's main plot is a modder's flex of what can be done in the engine. it's astounding work. but the actual tale, the story, it really misses marks because it feels like they're tied down to something they can't change and are trying to force the game to do what they want as opposed to a harmony
