I didn’t even get a choice with it. I was forced into the position because the armoury officer didn’t know how to do his job well, and I was assigned by my platoon leader to get the armoury officer’s shit together. So there I was, E1 John, doing the work of an O1 to make up for the actual armoury officer’s incompetence. And yes, I was still in training for this. Why was I put into that role? Because I was one of the only people in my WHOLE platoon who know how to use spreadsheets.

Fun fact (for mike): Ok so when you're using the search command in the console, if you want to get a specific search you can put the name of the item, spaces included in quotation marks. like for instance the way I see you doing it, if you want to find the grenade launcher's id code you type: Search grenade weap you'd get search results for the grenade rifle, frag grenades, plasma. pulse, etc. and somewhere in there you'd find the grenade launcher. However, if you do it like this Search "grenade launcher" you'd only get the results for the grenade launcher, unless you got a mod installed that adds something with grenade launcher in the name. You can even type weap to specify the item category as well, but its kinda pointless in this scenario, but it is useful for finding weapon mods, especially for modded weapon. I ran out of fun fact for FNC right now, so this will have to do.

Bruh Ben would've been so much better if he retained some of that "geeky" personality from the vault sequence. I don't mind him becoming more serious due to this whole "awakening" he had but they shouldn't have went too hard on this "i'm a badass now" ben. Little tip for the Frontier vehicles, since you guys have been using them a lot for FNC! You can load the trunk full of Jerry Cans and refuel the car without having to lug the really heavy fuel cans around. Makes the process a lot less tedious... until you run out again.

Wanna mention a few things from the last video with Mike. The Sandcrawler does have a quest for it. But I believe it's only available after a certain point. Unfortunately I cannot remember it right now. The quests to find the missing Brahmin caravans is actually a normal quest and not just a repeat quest. Also as a little sidenote, the character you talk to for the quest is a reference to Burt from the Tremors movies. He even makes a reference in one of his dialogue options I believe. As for the world seeming empty, there's actually two reasons for that. One is that the two Devs for FNC eventually decided to focus solely on the main questline and getting it finished. As no one else had come on to help out with the work and so no time could be spent on more side quests and locations. Along with other content that they had wanted to do. The second reason is that they also wanted there to be room for anyone to come along and add their own stuff to the world. Whether it was as a separate mod or even possibly wanting to add their own stuff to FNC. Which people can still do now if they so wish. If you were to have any questions about it, you can always head over to the FNC discord and ask about it. Glad to see you two are enjoying things much more together in this episode! Bit of an Edit: The puzzles and those antique strongboxes were actually made by someone wanting to add side content to the world. They did a really good job with the puzzles. Sadly they ended up leaving and leaving their stuff unfinished. So there's no conclusion to it. Also, I recommend you guys look for a place called Odyssey. It's another place made by a couple of people and thankfully finished. It is meant to be a bit weird in some ways though. So just be prepared for that.

@@georgestoebig105 ok new california is bad but it's bad for different reasons when compared to the frontier, the main issues with NC is that the world space is so lazy and bare bones that there's nothing to it which is a shame because allot of people really wanted to explore some of NCR but they wanted it to basically be the tutorial area before going to the mojave. The NCR like in every quest mod for some reason is portrayed as cartoonishly evil and groups like the raiders and the legion are just misunderstood honorable people which is completely false, NCR isn't evil but they aren't the good guys either. Then you have the really stupid origin for your character and the whole story and point of the mod is to explain why you got shot in the head and lived. Sorry for the long text wall.

@@delta2372 I 100% agree about world space, although I believe that’s because a bunch of the dev team left during development, so they now just have to pray someone will offer to help join in the development to finish it. NCR being cartoonishly evil I am starting to agree with but there are many occasions of good people in NCR, problem is there isn’t much reason why they’d actually be THAT murderous. I think the origin story itself is fine if a bit action hero like, but thankfully it’s confirmed the player isn’t actually a vault dweller clone and the main villain is just a lunatic, otherwise I may not have considered it favorably.

I'm pretty surprised that Zach knows about the Swedish K, also known as the Kulsptutepistol m/45 or Carl Gustaf m/45, since Sweden refused to sell them to the US after they entered the Vietnam War which caused the US to copy the design, butcher it completely, and give them to the navy. For those who don't know, the Swedish K is one of the best submachine guns ever made, the thiccc pistolgrip being the only bad thing about it. It was super easy to handle due to it's slow rate of fire and had a foldable wire stock which made it easy to transport, the slow rate of fire also made the wire stock (which is infamous for being a really uncomfortable type of stock) actually feel decent against the shoulder and cheek. The gun was even licensed to Egypt as the Port Said m/45 which is basically the original variant but with minor improvements. The gun was officially replaced by the AK 4 battle rifles and AK 5 assault rifles but it continued to see service within the Swedish Home Guard (Hemvärnet) until 2007 when it was retired, and in total about 300000 guns when built including all variants and licenses, so finding one isn't that hard but if you want an original then going for the Port Said variant is your best bet.

This is weird. The Shi aren't Japanese. The Shi are almost exclusively Chinese. They were originally Chinese navy who landed in San Francisco bay on a Chinese sub. The Yakuza still exist in Fallout and are a separate faction from the Shi.

I have tried this mod several times now, and it.... there is so much to love and admire here. Parts of it feel really strong, and dense with story and attention to detail. traversing the i-15 feels really cool. Witnessing the skirmishes between raiders and NCR. It feels like an active warzone. Many people have talked about how the vault felt incredibly well-crafted as an environment, and I agree. You are traveling with a group of diverse people, and handling that, in the beginning was great. Pinhaven was one of my favorite segments, mostly. The voice-acting is really good (the fact that this is fully VAed BLOWS MY MIND), On top of that, criticizing something you can get for free feels especially shitty. But there is nothing here that I can hold onto. Sure, the vault is great, but you are in there for only a short moment. You travel with a bunch of people, but either loose them in quests or you completely remove yourself from the quest. The only thing you can like is the environment and maybe the robots: Most NPCs you meet are assholes or unsympathetic, including companions (Ben is cool when he isn't being arrogant, Jenn is an asshole in the backstory but generally okay, Jamie and Eric are odd but ok, Kira is wildly ranging from naive to basically being a monster. But I can't really bring myself to midly care for anyone except the Robo-dog.). The story is... out of place. In any case, there is a lot that's great. But I am not gonna play this one too deeply for now, and just watch the guys do their thing.
