Watching Dorian and yourself attack the gym is motivating and I am excited about this new but familiar challenge. So far two month’s in, cleaned up the diet and I’ve noticed some nice changes that have me pushing even with a demanding job working with the vulnerable sector . I am a HUGE Dorian Yates fan, he has been my fav body builder for 30 yrs, and I actually named my first ever; purebred, papered, reg. "American Pit Bull Terrier" after him. = YATES or Yatesy boy. He was an amazing dog, in every way amaginable. Very intelligent, an amazing temperment, and a specimen to look at, extremely well built, a great little athlete and just the best buddy/friend and pet you could ever ask for. I got him at the age of 14 weeks and he lived a full , good life, until the age of 12. I miss him terribly . RIP Yatesy boy. Thanks so much for video. Dorian is a legend, IN BODYBUILDING, but also, just an UNBELIEVABLE/EXTRODINAIRE human being overall, who we all can learn alot from, he thinks outside the box, is very openminded, intelligent, a man of integrity, morals, a family man, a real dude, straight shooter, innovative, he has a very strong mind= mental strength/toughness/resiliency, willpower beyond belief, along with discipline, confidence.. Alot of people really donot fully understand at all, just exactly what all really goes into/ and what it truely takes for a man to be the = very best in the world, top, elite #! BODYBUILDER, and then to do it 6 years in a row, and then to arguable be the best ever. For example. almost, everyother sport/athlete, they train and compete for so many hours a day, But bodybuilding, when your competing with the best and are the best= you have to be %100 DEDICATED and DISCIPLINED = 24 HOURS A DAY, STRONG MINDED MENTAL STRENGTH not to cheat, and eat unhealthy and just go ahead and try to eat every 2-3 hours every day week month for 10 years, thats alot chicken, tuna eggs steak etc, no fun no parties no drugs no liquor, cardio twice a day etc etc etc. AND DORIAN WAS THE BEST IN THE WORLD FOR 6 YEARS IN A ROW, JUST KEPT ON DOUIN IT BEIN #1 EVEN THROUGH ALL THE INJURIES PAIN SUFFERINFG NEVER ONCE GAVE UP. AND HE Was the first ever mass monster, AND THE ONLY BODY BUILDER "KNOWN" TO ACTUALLY GO AWAY AND HIDE FROM THE WORLD AND ALL THE MEDIA, PUBLIC , PAPERS FOR YEARS ON END ONLY TO SURFACE/ COME OUT = FOR THE OLYMPIA, WIN THE TITLE AND DISAPPEAR UNTIL THE FOLLOWING YEAR AKA[ "TYHE SHADOW" AKA THE BEST TO EVER DO IT AKA THE KING

I watched this today before going into the gym... and I had the most intense work out I've had in a long while. Something about the low key delivery he had, when he was trying to motivate the lad into paused reps.... "see if you can do 4, if not 2, if not 1..." but you could still feel the fire to push yourself radiating from Yates. And then later on, when he says he can't really work out like that anymore, just a few exercises and legs. The other piece of experience I gleaned was, sometimes people just need to be shown what's up and it will click. Once they have been there they can find their way back. This video wasn't so focused on the science or, what routine is best etc, but more so a philosophy and approach you need to have and deliver with purpose. Thank you so much for this, it's almost like I was able to train with Yates too. I definitely found a big piece to the puzzle.

Yates is one of the few Mr Olympias who actually seems to have a good understanding of training and nutrition principles, and who gives advice that your average natural gym-goer could take and get solid results with. When I listen to people like Phil Heath, Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman, Dexter Jackson, or Shawn Rhoden give advice, it always amazes me that these people got so far in the sport whilst having relatively little in-depth knowledge of training. Just goes to show that genetics and drugs go a long way.

I’ve never heard of you, Mike, but of all the videos of Dorian training people, I like your sessions the most.

Yates was and always will be a different animal in the gym than anyone else i've seen. Ronnie was a monster and lifted crazy heavy, but intensity, Yates still in unbeaten.
