Regardless of how they try to justify it, the reason that most people drink (and use recreational drugs) is to escape the drudgery and monotony of their day-to-day existence. When you create a life for yourself that you don't feel any need to get away from, these substances lose their appeal.

I'm 51 now and rarely get sick; I attribute much of that to not drinking.

@ocelot. as Mike mentioned in his video, he learned to socialize with his friends without the need for alcohol; that's the key. Drinking alcohol thwarts that learning process; it becomes a crutch. People need to see that you can still "live life to its fullest" without booze. Believe me, at my age, the friends who are "missing out on life" are those who chose to "live life" with alcohol when they were younger. It's a Faustian bargain.

Have drank alcohol twice in the last 14 months. I was sitting around 56kg at 168cm then with a poor training schedule. I’m now around the 78kg mark and haven’t looked back. Mike you’re a big inspiration for all of that 👊👊💙

You got it! Basically cut out alcohol myself for the majority of the time, because of the training, and don’t really miss it. In stead I joined a champagne club and have great champagne when I do drink - just doing what I think really matters no matter how much people push because they can’t do the same thing!

I've never had a drink, so there's a lot I can't relate with, but I'm glad that you did something difficult to improve your health. I'm encouraged by watching your vlogs to do hard things myself. I like watching your videos, keep it up.

Drinking is fine at the right amount. People have the impression that without alcohol they cant have fun and they can actually go crazy about it. It becomes an addiction
@erads21854 жыл бұрын
@Troy Being tipsy/feeling wavy is the best type, it's when you're still in a fair amount of control, you feel confident and you're enjoying yourself, it's when you get so drunk you don't have a clue what you're saying and you're just making a dick of yourself that it becomes a burden

Also I hate getting full on drunk now I just feel like my stomachs a swimming pool of alcohol and my head is all over the place, the morning after is a nightmare too

I definitely resonate with you on this vid man, been sober for around 5 months as well. Feel many of us are conditioned to drink/do drugs throughout society, personally I'm finding alcohol and drugs purely numbs the mind to allow your true self to come through. The real challenge is how to get to a state of happiness, joy and being your true self completely sober...well because naturally this how we should be in the first place.
@davehall174 жыл бұрын
Best quote I've heard regarding alcohol is "When you drink, you're just borrowing happiness from tomorrow". I've been sober for over 2 years now, mainly because I think the drawbacks outweigh the benefits. Also helps that I despise everyone I ever meet.
@AlbaraDatAcekid4 жыл бұрын
Amen to that. I’ve been sober coming up to 3 years. Completely changed my life. Feel healthier, happier, more cognitively competent and my finances took an upward trajectory. Overall, I feel more content with the life I’ve built.

Alcohol is no better a fun poison than sugar is. Cut both from your diet and you'll see tremendous improvements across the board. This comment is for YOU, reader.

I agree with you. I always have a coffee when I am in a restaurant and the menu comes around for desserts. I look at other people's plates with stick toffee pudding etc and I imagine how much I would hate the feeling of having had that myself.

Thanks for your sharing a great message! I’ve been sober for 4 years almost for same reasons..Felt like the days and years was slipping through my fingers due to drinking. Everything was on hold and about recovery / survival until next weekend. My wife does drink and I’m okay with that, it doesn’t really affect my kids, my dog and my training in any bad way.

Man, thank you for this video you opened my eyes. I’m gonna go to a festival soon and you made a very good point about over partying and catching viruses. I remembered this happened to me once in a nightclub in London. I was pushing my limits and got myself a nasty chest infection, it was the worst thing, and I remember telling myself that I will never do this again and will look after my body. Great man Mike

Not to mention the enormous spiritual gains when you choose to make choices that benefit you. Loving yourself is the best payoff. Strong physically, mentally and spiritually. Like others have mentioned, a lot of us drinkers (drug users) were just looking to evade, especially in social situations; the need to evade awkwardness, timidity, or even evade your so called friends is widely popular and accepted as normal in society. Don’t be normal, be great 👍🏻
@dominatorrex184 жыл бұрын
For me it was exactly the same. After quitting drinking for 3 months during quarantine I didn't even want to drink anymore. I just drink 1 or 2 drinks on a night out or be the driver now and I'm a lot happier now. No hangovers, no shame, no poor performance in the gym the next day. Anyways keep that great content up!
