The R7 - Episode 3 - Exhaust Mod

Doing a mod to the stock exhaust for a bit more noisy noise

I modified my girlfriends mt-07 exhaust because i to found it was way too quiet even sometimes dangerously quiet where people out walking couldn’t hear it coming towards them until the last second! What I did because I have the equipment being a metal fabricator and my own shop I neatly cut open the exhaust through the seams and took out all the internal baffle chambers creating one big chamber and left the standard cat in there and also put a bigger outlet pipe to fill the stock shroud that goes on with the 3 little bolts….my god the difference in sound is incredible it has a lovely throaty rumble now and sounds great👌🏻👍🏼

Yeah I forgot to add the obvious end part that I tig welded the exhaust back together along all the standard seams and spray painted it Matt black with high temperature paint you would never know it was touched until it is fired up😁👍🏼 The mt 07 has a lovely engine sound shame the standard exhaust just completely hides it😄

Were your handle bars a bit crooked to the right? Mine was a lil crooked straight from the dealer. I got it a lil straighter, but not perfect yet. I hear others have this triple tree crooking to the right issue 😢

@@theprodigal7143 I don't believe so, I've cast my eyes over it, if in doubt you can resolve it easily by loosing up the lower triple clamp bolts and the front wheel axle pinch bolt, bounce the suspension a few times and then retighten up to spec.

I guess in theory you can do one hole at a time, and if you truly regret it, standard exhausts will be available for not much money. However I really doubt you would regret hearing more of the engine noise, really livens up the experience of riding the R7!

Great video but how legal is it exactly ? Living in Germany where police is a bit stricter than elsewhere

Nicht so Legal, wenn du den Auspuff modifizierst oder umbaust erlischt die Betriebserlaubnis. Allerding so lang die Polizei keine Db Messung durchführt bei dir ist das jedem so ziemlich egal... aber falls du trotzdem vor hast was zu ändern an der Standard Anlage würde ich nur schauen das es nicht zu laut wird und am Anfang nur 2 Löcher oder so reinmachen, dann fällt das nicht so auf :)

Sorry, haven’t measured it, it’s nicely loud is all I can say 😂 at the moment running with the db killer out 👍

I owe a Ione a 2022 MT07 only has 200 miles and I just did the same thing today. It sounds pretty good but I don’t like you because you sound like a raptor 700 for now it’s OK
