An awesome attack by Tahl. He is the original cowboy of chess. Right off the bat he goes out with all guns blazing. Finger on the trigger,so to speak. Of course knight to C6 was a great move,by the way I saw it coming. Of course how can one not think of the G.O.A.T. the knight sac was one such move,as our dear HCV said,the Opera House game. Unforgettable,indeed. Whenever we see a razor sharp variation of different openings,the spirit of Morphy seems to hang heavily over the chessboard,like banquo's ghost over macbeth's dining table. That's the Morphy effect on all of us. Thks for a great game by Tahl.

Yes the Modern Defense (Pirc-Robatsch and its Variants) appears too Passive it Right ! Our Local Champ and the then Canadian in the "Old Days" specialized in these systems and did ok against the Local Club Patzers but using this in Strong International Tournaments, both no longer play Chess and got "Day Jobs" , says it all........

Gufeld should have resign earlier, why he didn't is a mystery 🤔 I think Qe7 in place of Be6 would be slightly better ..
