No. I love how they say "the bloodline follows the father" yet it's only the mother's DNA that can be traced back to our original ancestors.

@@jenniferreynolds1537 The reason why black women/ black femme presenting individuals have such a high mortality is because of white/non-black doctors not taking our pain seriously. And then after a month of not seeing them we gave her $400 and she took the money and didn’t let us see them and asked for more money. So my parents took her to court for their rights. She even asked for child support from the judge and the judge laughed at her. She got $1600 from social security. So now we have them court ordered 2 days outta the week. And we actually have them more because she’s busy as she says. My brother was killed by a drunk driver. He didn’t abandon them. He was tooken from them. From all of us. My Grandma has always favored my younger brother, and now that I'm 18, turning 19 soon, I get to choose whether or not I see her that often. Not only has her relationship with me become strained, but her relationship with my brother too. Playing favourites doesn't work out for anyone.

Something like this happened in my family to my cousin with her MIL for the exact same reason and the level of petty that my family exudes --- her husband took her last name so their son doesn't have the "family" names the in-laws were obsessed with.

In my opinion she shouldn’t have the baby. If it does turn out to be a boy then the in laws will seriously mistreat the daughter and favour the son. It’s best to put further pregnancy on hold and definitely change out your protection! Distance from the in-laws too.

Isn't getting pregnant so soon after giving birth sort of dangerous? Her body would've essentially had no real time to rest. Also, I wonder how the mother in law didn't realize that by doing that, it would get her cut completely from her grandchildren's lives? So even if the OP had a son, it's not as if the grandma would've gotten to be in his life(because of what she did to his mother).
@Bringon-dw8dx3 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s extremely dangerous- minimum you should wait a year if you had a standard pregnancy. Longer if you had a traumatic vaginal birth or had a C section
@heatherduke54103 жыл бұрын

My grandparents have always favoured my brother over me. We have a 5 year age gap (I’m older) and as soon as he was born things changed. If I had a toy and my brother wanted it, they’d snatch it off me and give it to him; they made a bedroom in their home for him and not for me. I no longer speak to them for other reasons and have only seen them once since I was 17- I’m now 25. I showed them pictures of my graduation they missed and they didn’t even care. I hope nobody feels the way I did and I guess the idea of their last name living on through my brother makes sense as why he was favoured over me.

First of all, birth can be sooo traumatic!! My oldest daughter haemorrhaged after having my grandson in December. Not too badly, extra fluids were enough, she didn’t need a transfusion. But my son-in-law has PTSD from it! He was handed his newborn son and thought he was going to lose his wife!! He was ready to have a vasectomy within a month!! Secondly, that MIL is screwed up!!

I’m an Irish twin! My sister and I were super close growing up, my mom didn’t expect me either.... 7 months pregnant with me at my sisters 1st birthday.... yeah it was like I had a best friend growing up, we grew apart bc were completely different, but we’re growing closer as we get older and hopefully if I ever pop out a kid she’ll be the cool wine aunt! Let them also grow individually and don’t constantly try to hook them onto each other, that works more for boys than for girls tbh!

Haha this remind me of my life I’m a girl, and the moment my little brother was born the my (g-grandfather and grandfather.) told my dad that he should bring just my little newborn brother over for a generational photo for first born son bullshit. I wasn’t invited I was three and had never met my ggf. My mum made my dad take me. It kinda just sums up my position in my dads family due to the fact that they have more sons and grandsons then daughters and granddaughters. But it doesn’t help a huge amount of it actually comes from my dads step mom. Also the only grandma I’ve ever known on that side. Treats girls as second fiddle, to her boys.

Depends on where you are depends on how grandparents rights work. I’m in Canada where there is no rights, however I just finished a nearly 4 yr battle with my own mom as she tried to take me to court for visitation of my kids (literally she acted as if she was a divorced parent not a grandparent). Luckily for me she showed just how toxic she was towards me which got her no contact. Court system be screwed up.

For context, my former MIL has said im a druggie, tweaker, drunk, parties all the time, and is no good for her daughter cause im not rich. Shes a narcissitic and minipulative woman. So to spit her. My ex and i gave my mothers middle name (Dawn) to our daughter. Eventually my former MIL's minipulation worked and my ex left me.

My MIL hasn’t done anything this crazy but my first child she kept saying she wanted a boy and when we found out it was a girl she had had minimal contact with her. She showed up to the baby shower long enough to eat and step outside to smoke(while we opened gifts) and didn’t show up to the hospital and got told by in-laws that she doesn’t like me so she’s not coming. Now over 3 years later I’m pregnant again and at first she expressed she didn’t care about the gender but then proceeded to call our baby a boy and I want this or that to be given to the boy which obviously pissed me off.. we still don’t know the gender but no matter the gender I’m limiting her contact with our children. You don’t get to pick and choose what child to love
