@SethonanGaming10 ай бұрын
IF anybody is singing praises for Tekken 3 and kind of ignoring Tekken 2 is simply because Tekken 3 arrived on the PSone instead of the PS2 and it was a no brainer to upgrade your tekken 2. Objectively Tekken 3 is the better game overall and has even MORE features added to it. Graphics, sound and CGI is objectively BETTER, control response is too.

I remember playing the demo at Sear's and being overwhelmed the comparison gameplay between this and Virtua Fighter 2. Tekken 2 and tekken 3 were the debut tekken games from my childhood on the original playstation. It brings such trip lane memories of the old classic characters especially the ones that were locked they were secret characters. But yeah tekken 2 i enjoyed playing it but as max said it was so difficult to pass game modes for one instance such as the arcade mode where you got to face devil kazuya and he was annoying as hell he was like the shao kahn boss battle from mk3 and yes most characters they use to block your string moves and combos at all times. one the other hand tekken 3 was the top tekken game of my entire life it was difficult but not much like 2 when i got to face ogre he was much more easier than devil kazuya and the combos were much freeflow in my opinion. so yeah in the end tekken 3 always was my absolute favorite tekken game that grew with from the first debut of the 3d era fighting games plus i used to play them both on arcades too before i fully graced my attention to purchase both these tekken games on the console version. Its incredible journey of how tekken evolved around after all these years and this core franchise is here to stay just like mortal kombat and street fighter. Thank you max for these evolution of the tekken franchise and looking forward now in the present tekken game which is the new installment and that is tekken 8.

I remember when this came out and I really loved the story. The fact that it was a continuation of Tekken 1 and Kazuya was now the boss was so interesting at the time. PS1 was where narrative games really took off (Resident Evil, Tomb Raider) and to see a proper story applied to a fighting game was new at the time (For example Street Fighter 2 had very little narrative - it has subsequently been retconned to fit in with the other games in the series but in the 90s no one new who won SF2 or what was canon). The story ties into the first 3 games really well - especially given how old these games are and how easy it would have been to just rush out new games in the franchise without considering how each entry worked together thematically.

Tekken 2 is what Tekken 1 should've been, in my opinion. It was such a massive improvement. Graphics, gameplay, music, everything. I think it's aged very well in comparison to the first game. It looks pretty darn good for a game from 1995. It's certainly a much stricter game than the first one, but I also feel like it's loads more responsive as well. Tekken 1 felt like I was wrestling with my controller more than I was playing the game. It was incredibly frustrating. Tekken 2 isn't perfect, but my only "real" gripes are that the difficulty is still insane (though slightly easier than T1), the CPU is incredibly cheap, and wakeup still feels terrible. That aside, it's a very fun (if not frustrating) game.

3:25 Spot on Max. After you did the SF Legacy heading in to SF6, and I got the itch to revisit the catalogue myself, I loved that SFV CE has arcade modes which pay homage to the older games. While USF2 and Third Strike stand on their own, the SF1 classic arcade mode in SFV superceded my need to revisit the original - I appreciate the then and now context, but SFV celebrated it beautifully I felt. Tekken definitely has the same vibe about it, especially in T2. But it makes sense why T2 and T3 are so fobdly remembered because those entries cranked up the gas after T1... also Yoshimitsu's glow ups are amazing.

My parents bought a ps1 for themselves and Tekken 2 was one of few games they bought with it. When I was 2 I remember vividly my dad being a Yoshi main and I could never beat him. I made it my goal to actually 2-0 my dad in a match one day and pretty much played nothing but Tekken 2 up until I was 5 years old (Finally beating my dad) Fast forward to now I’m 25 and freaking love the Tekken franchise (even participating in local tournaments). All of this because my parents decided on getting Tekken 2 and letting me play it. Love this game ❤

9:12 Barebones, my ass. T2 has the best story in the OG trilogy.

After seeing and playing Tekken 2, I realized back in the day that this is more than just a Rave War game. It was huge in character roster count, soundtrack count, and after so many Arcade mode runs, so much endings😅. It was a decent fighting game to hold a place in my heart…

First Tekken game I played and in some ways will always be a favorite for me. Best intro and best music. Also, because of the big timeskip to Tekken 3 and so many characters that didn't make it to that game I often went back to 2 after 3 came out.

My first tekken! I was a Sega Saturn kid and this was the game that made me buy a psx. It was brilliant at the time with an amazing soundtrack.

Tekken 2 is my Tekken. First time i saw a playstation, I was hanging out with my half-brother, and he owned one. We spend that whole summer playing Tekken. Fast forward a couple years, and I get a PlayStation for Christmas. First Games I got where Tekken 2, Jet Moto 2, and Final Fantasy VII. Played those games like mad. Lived Tekken 2 non stop. Having friends come over to play the shit out of that game was a blast. The best memory was when we were allowed to hook it up to the new big screen. Law running up Jack 2 on that giant TV was epic. 😂 Good times.

How have I only just seen this!? Tekken 2 back in the day! One of the games of my childhood! I still go back and play it every now and then, just for the nostalgia
