So idk where the “Mishima clone” thing came from…maybe because they have the same last name? Because while they all use Karate its pretty different forms of Karate for each. I think Kaz uses a Shotokan influenced style while Jin’s is closer to Kyukashin. Jinpachi is weird as hell. And idk what Heihachi’s style is based from. As of this writing, it has even outsold the legendary Street Fighter series which is insane and unprecedented. Not bad for a series that was dismissed as a "Virtua Fighter-clone" when it started.

I was 16 or 17 when it came out. Remember there was a pool hall I would hang at that had a cabinet of 2. Had to go to the local Aladdin's Castle for 3. Was hooked afterwards.

While I've always liked fighting games since my early gamer days, with titles such as International Karate, IK+ and Yie Ar Kung-Fu being the most memorable, Street Fighter 2 was the first to truly captivate me. Tekken 3 managed to take the position of favourite fighting game very quickly. VF 1-3 were certainly impressive for the time and I spent quite a bit of money on the arcade machines, Tekken 2 was kinda meh in comparison to those three. At that point Mortal Kombat only really had the gore factor left as an attraction. But Tekken 3 came in with (for the time) amazing 3D graphics, a wealth of cutscenes, great animations and a very varied roster of characters. Not having a console meant that it took me several years before I got to play that version.

Tekken 3 was my first tekken game i ever played. Used to play with my dad and older brother all the time and we had a blast. Was instantly drawn to yoshimitsu since 5 year old bunga brain said "Crazy space ninja with lightsaber? im in" and have mained him ever since. Tekken Ball and Force were stupid fun too. This turned me into the fighting game nerd i am today, thanks to my old man, and i have no regrets.

MK1 was my first ever fighting game, but Tekken 3 made me an aficionado for life. This game’s importance can really not be understated

This was my favorite Tekken, it just had an impact on my little mind. I had the Yoshimitsu toy with the TK3 skins. Loved it!

I remember playing this with my cousins all the time as a kid. I always picked Xiaoyu because i really liked her blue costume and wish it came back in some way. I got my original tekken main, Jun, coming back so maybe theres a chance the out fit could happen

I played this game on the arcade in the gas station. Cost 25 cents if I remember in 1998. Bring back the memories.

Tag 1 definitely counts as OG Tekken. You can view it as either the epilogue, or more appropriately, Super Tekken 3 Ultra Turbo: Tag Edition.

Tekken 3 was my first tekken game as a kid when I first thought Paul phoenix was Ken and if I have to say tekken 3 is the bringer of gaming that brought the evolving story up to make the protagonist of tekken, Jin kazama the hero of tekken.

Good memories of this one and whichever Fatal Fury/KOF released on ps1 around the time. Really eye opening as a kid that fighting games were cool outside of what I owned.
