@@cadenfuchs4991 you're kind of shooting yourself in the foot with that reply. So you think to get better at running you have to run your easy days fast? Easy days should be easy, workouts are where you should be looking to close the gaps in terms of fitness with people who are "minutes faster than you", not on easy days.

Yes for top spots it’s very competitive it’s about 6:10 to 6:30 pace for long runs/ regular milage. As someone who ran low 15:00 for the 3 mile and won mount sac twice in a row you have to train like that bc even accomplishing that I didn’t know if I was stepping on that line for CIF it’s that tough

My crosscountry team does a 5 mile cool down on Thursdays after Monday we ran 6 miles intervals and in my group under 6 minutes Tuesday was 800m was 6 of them in 2:30 and Wednesday is time trial of three miles I usually do it in 18:10 as I don’t want to hurt myself and Thursday as like I said is 5 miles at a 6:30 to 7:30 pace.
