@@gusthegoat250 Rule 3-1-1: A team must begin the game with five players, but if it has no substitutes to replace disqualified or injured players, it must continue with fewer than five. When there is only one player participating for a team, the team shall forfeit the game, unless the referee believes that team has an opportunity to win the game. So you can actually play basketball with 2, or if you are already ahead, maybe 1. (This is the college rule, in the NBA disqualified players continue to play if there aren't 5 left)

Um... because it works? BTW, not everyone runs 100 mile weeks. When I ran at NCC, I occasionally topped 90, but when healthy I was more in the 75-85 mile range.
@LoneEndurance
@LoneEndurance 5 жыл бұрын
@@GreekSoldier46 Arthur Lydiard would even put his 800 and 1500 m runners on 100 mile weeks during the base phase. The rationale is that anything longer than a minute in race duration is essentially a mostly aerobic event, and thus training the aerobic system makes sense. That system is best trained by high volume, low to moderate intensity running. Time spent running basically.

Kipchoge is running on road, without sharp turns, same rhythm all the time, with rabbits, in peak season, few times a year. These guys running on grass, with turns, starting and stopping, no rabbit, in pre-season, all the time, and while running 100 miles a week. Kipchoge is far better, no question, but all these things make a big difference.

Agree completely with Capt Commander. You will naturally stay skinny no matter how much you eat at longer distances per week. For instance I used to eat 5 bowls of food 4 meals a day at 100 (super slow) miles a week and the food didnt make a dent in how much I was burning.
