Here are some of my thoughts. Right now, it seems like the main dilemma with Shidou is going to be whether we want to anger Amane even further by voting him innocent again, or risk someone else not being able to be treated if they get hurt by voting him guilty. The lyrics seem to indicate that he hates that he was found innocent, but he’s smiling on his album cover and in the song of the prisoners image. Also, in the trailer, there are lyrics where he says that he accepts this as punishment and he has no right to die, and love never dies. This makes me think that the suspicion other people had that Shidou wanted to die in order to reunite with his loved one may have been true. So I think he’s upset that he can’t see them again yet, but he still feels guilty about his murders, so he accepts his torment as penance. I’m thinking that if he is voted innocent and Amane doesn’t end up harming Shidou, maybe he will continue to be grief-stricken in the next trial, and maybe it will finally be too much for him to just take it on the chin. I’m also curious what his thoughts about his treatments of Futa and Mahiru are, or if he might try to threaten to do something if we don’t vote how he wants. I don’t know. It’s hard to say. I’m really interested in Shidou this trial, and his song is probably the one I’m most excited for along with Mahiru’s. Edit: I wasn’t aware of this when I wrote this, but I was told that on the website Shidou stated on the website that he feels he needs to keep living to help the wounded prisoners. I think maybe if what I thought is true, this desire to help the prisoners and his torment over not being punished for his murders could potentially clash and eat away at him until it’s too much if he’s voted innocent again. Idk, I’m just trying to think of any negative consequences of voting him innocent, because right now it seems too much of a no-brainer choice to vote him innocent. I feel like there’s got to be some catch.

i believe on the website he says something along the lines of "i am okay with being forgiven if it means i can help them [Mahiru and Futa] however I do not know how accurate said translation is. Also i dont see Amane being forgiven this time around anyway.

In the most recent voice drama he says (paraphrasing, also i read this a while ago) that he’s taking back his wish to be voted guilty/die since he realizes that other people’s lives (mahiru, fuuta) depend on his own survival as the only doctor. Take this as you will.

in french, a "triage" can just refer to the act of sorting out objects. however, there's a different meaning that i think fits shidou more. in world war 1, a triage was when a military general would enter the battlefield, and pick out which soldiers to save, and which to leave to die of their wounds alone.

His undercover segment was about lying, Throw Down sheds a bit of light on what that lying could mean (The theories being that he lies to the victim or their loved ones) but honestly that feels way too weak of an explanation to his theme of lying.

As a harvesting organs theory disliker can't wait for the mv to see if he did or not do it If anyone wants my 15 pages doc about him and my personal theory (that flower person is not his lover but a relative, wanted to take care of them but it was very mentally taxing and it started to make him miserable) hit me up😻😻 Edit: I sent the doc in the replies, + there's some stuff I would like to edit in the doc but I can't rn 😢😢 but basically I'd like to describe stuff with a more "lovehate/he cared, he knew he cared but it was getting hard to act like that" feel, idk if it seemed like I wanted to say he just hated them and that's it in the doc when it's not the case at all + XY can also be crossed out, meaning then that Ru could be female + I think I didn't explain in the doc but I think they are relatives because both have the same surname, I don't think they would be married but there was never any hints that Shidou is married??! I don't understand why people think he was harvesting organs. To me, it looks like he worked with the terminally ill, and eventually, a loved one was diagnosed with a terminal illness as well. They may have been assigned to him and he couldn't save anyone--not even a loved one--with medicine, so he views them all as murders of neglect. If the song's name is Triage, then it references how some patients are prioritized above others. Shidou mentions that he doesn't think ethics exist. From the perspective of someone who would want to save everyone then the practice of triage would mean ethics don't really exist.

A theory regarding Shidou's crime: 'Triage' is the process of sorting patients to determine the order in which they will be treated (for example, by assigning precedence according to the urgency of illness or injury). Some lyrics from Throw Down: 'The feeling to take away in order to give' 'If it’s not needed, I’m not interested' '“Throw down”, someone’s value Cannot be the same as another' '“Throw down” should choose between superiority or inferiority' This makes me think that rather than saving someone important to him, Shidou was some sort of vigilante doctor who treated his patients according to their 'value' to society. I'm convinced that the reason Shidou wants to be punished is because he believes his 'value' has diminished somehow. Maybe treating Mahiru and Fuuta also had some hidden motive, but this means that Shidou doesn't view Es' verdict as a deciding factor in a person's 'value'. Another excerpt from Throw Down: '“Throw down” ethics is a delusion' might refer to the oath all doctors make (Hippocratic oath?) to treat all patients equally (?) and adhere to a set of ethical standards, and how Shidou goes directly against it. Maybe he doesn't think much of the oath or even looks down on it. I have a feeling that Shidou's (confirmed) crime and how he views the people he killed will be so bad that he'll get voted guilty, even though the majority of us want to vote him innocent because of his medical skills. It just seems like a milgram move to turn the tables so drastically, like with Muu. Also, he might somehow sabotage his trial by influencing his mv to purposely get a guilty verdict. Not too far-fetched considering this is a person who asked us for the death penalty as a greeting. Please share your thoughts on this theory!
