THE TRUTH ABOUT MILK - WHEN IS IT GOOD OR BAD? In this video we discusses practical ways to decide whether DAIRY has benefits or is better left out of your diet, as well as when to add or remove dairy products. There are too many authoritarian gumflappers on the internet who are so dogmatically absolutist that it is impossible to know the truth for yourself. Know the pros and cons then make a personal decision - and it’s OK to change it up. Know the scientific truth about how your body works.

Hi Dr. Cywes, I want to say I love the way you call it what it is ( BS) I started a somewhat ketogenic a few months ago to get healthier. I do have a question. What is your opinion on berberine? Also, I will be getting some blood work done in a week. I requested A1C, lipid panel Vitamin D, TSH, ( I have Hashimoto’s) my Dr says don’t need T3, and Iron. She usually requests Alt and creatine. Is there something else I should request? I also want to say, besides cutting out my carbs I usually fast 18-20 hrs a day and do HIIT in a cycle class. I am 66 years old and wondering if there’s anything else I should do to heal my cells. Thank you for your wisdom and bold advice

I do homanded fermented kefir (sometimes double-triple fermented to reduce carbs to near 0). Base kefir fermentation reduced carbs by 30% but either specialized yeasts or adding in a base like baking soda and refermenting can reduce farther. All the protein and fat and much less carbs.

More snack I have better chance I will not ever go thru Ketosis Kick out. Given a choice my body Strongly Prefers Carbohydrates, and will apparently starve itself waiting for carbs to return.. 2 consecutive days of no/ultra low carbs seems to be key to lock onto ketosis.

I drink a half gallon of raw milk every day. YES, raw milk would help those who are required to eat only rice and beans 😢😢. Billions of people in poverty would benefit from milk. I cry for the poor around the world but not those in the USA eating McDonald's and drinking coke cola. Obesity and ultra processed foods are a rich man's problem.

@@Jay-h9d9h not saying they are "required". Saying there are billions of people who only have rice and beans available (location and economic status). Some eat dirt. If we want to help more people and move more people to carnivore, then providing these people with milk would be a great place to start. Maybe just the whey or casein protein powder (just add water) to avoid issues with refrigeration. US tax money pays for beans and rice, it should be less rice and more protein

Agreed. It's about oxidizing substrate, not calories. But this is also in a video about the benefits of dairy without even touching on the fact that milk is only "the most complex food on the planet" if it's not pasteurized. Once it's cooked and the fat is homogenized, it's dead mixed fuel media water. It's not the living food it started as. As much as I think Dr. Cywes has good things to say, this lady is running way behind on her understanding of things.

I thought cows milk is to nurse their calves. Mammals produce milk for "their" offspring. Humans produce (mother's milk) for their babies. Why does the dairy industry push consumers to drink milk; to make money from innocent animals and keep them in a state of constant lactating. I'm sorry, I disagree with the milk theory that it's good for humans. Guess I've watched too many documentaries on how it's factory produced and how animals are treated to process dairy and meat.

Lacto fermenting dairy removes a lot of the lactose. Which is the carbs you’re referring to. There are many alternatives to the 4 hr fermented dairy that you buy in the grocery store. In some cultures milk kefir is one of a child’s first weaning foods. Milk kefir fermented for 48 hrs has almost no carbs.
