How did you do it? I was literally threatening to send my millennial to the military today. Told him he needed to get his ass back in school and stop doing nothing. He literally sent me a text a couple of weeks ago saying how he wanted "compensation" for the work he does around the house. I thought my head would explode!!! I have three degrees for god's sake and have been raising three children as a single mom for the majority of their lives. Its so astonishingly a slap in face that I can't comprehend it. I never did participation trophy nonsense. I punished them justly when they were children. I modeled good work ethic and morality. We have a home church. This boy is super smart, good looking and talented. He played the violin in high school and was in the top orchestra. He had a full ride to college because of his academic prowess and lost it after two semesters there. No drugs, no drinking, no girls. It's heartbreaking and mind blowing. You don't need to answer. This video just hit home today. My son doesn't act like any of the millennials in the video, but is still a millennial w/out a job living in my house!

@Kattywagon29 I don’t know your son’s life, but I want to say there’s usually a rational reason for a person’s choices. For one thing, from childhood and school where you’re constantly graded and rewarded for intelligence, talent, and effort, it’s very hard to transition into adult life which is competitive and unpredictable. They say school prepares you for life, and if you get good grades you’ll be successful, but in the end grades don’t pay rent. What they didn’t teach millennials in school is that you have to try again and again until you get your chance. It takes a while to figure that out and build up resilience.

Literally, laughed out loud! While I know plenty of millennials who are great at "adulting", this is a hilarious video about those who can't or or don't feel like it.

I kinda feel bad for the other 60% of millennials. I’ve never really met one like this. Technically I’m Gen X so I don’t speak on behalf of millennials but I do get it.

Yeah, I don't don't know a single millennial, and I know a lot, who fit into this stereotype. Most of them work several jobs, still don't get benefits, and are still scraping by, even though they've cut out things like, I dunno, life sustaining medication. I get the impression that this form of satire is geared towards people who have reasons to subvert millennial opinions as invalid, though.
@DirtyPrancing4 жыл бұрын
That's because it's a stereotype and most people age 25-45 don't fit into the stereotype. That's the joke

I like the video, very funny; but who brought up this generation to act like this? Answer: Many parents from the previous generation who never explained to their children how they got to where they were at. They gave their children money instead of their time.

@@MikeyPaper It always irritated me when I'd hear people saying I want my kids to have it easier than I did. The result MILLENNIALS. They failed to realize that their struggles is what made them hard working people of good Christian charactor.
@Midlife-Adventures5 жыл бұрын
I think that's an over simplification. A whole lot of factors are working together to make the job of parents who want to instill those values in their kids very difficult and sometimes pretty much impossible. Our welfare systems whilst in part good from a compassionate level (but not always) blunten the message of the consequences of a lack of effort. Our schools and universities are so heavily influenced by rights based rather than responsibility based ideology that the parents voice stands isolated again the the other authority figures in children's lives. Our family law system which rewards custody and can base any role in a child's life on how popular are with a child rewards pandering parenting and punishes parenting that tries to teach important but not always popular lessons. Yes a lot of it is parents who don't do their job but the "village" has a big role in this as well and to often ducks it's share of responsibility.

Bingo!! Like T.D. Jakes said. People are complaining about this generation like they aren't the ones who raised them. It's true!
