This song is one of my personal favorite Iron Maiden songs, if you are interested, check out Bruce's version on the death on the road tour, its been made into a dvd so you can find an clip of it on youtube.

Bruce is better by far,BUT I think that Blaze voice fits very well for the album's vibes,which is very dark and hollow mainly because Steve was struggling through his divorcie and his father's death.Anyways Blaze is a good singer,but you can't compare mortals with gods

So we miss Bruce. That's a given. However, is it the guitar work that is truly letting the side down? Does this band miss Adrian more than anything else?

Yes! .. but they’re missing allot of other things as well. Its a disaster! They should have taken some years off and reenergized. They are workhorses though! I’ll give ‘em that!
@RandomBoi-mc3ob2 жыл бұрын
@@helgaratbone1691 I'm glad we got these albums. They aren't perfect by any means but neither are any of their other albums, nothing is without it's flaws. The band had to go through this period to become who they are today. There's a good reason the current 6 man lineup is the longest running.
@immanuel_cunt76882 жыл бұрын
Sounds weird at first, but his departure was inevitable, Adrian would have turned Maiden after Seventh son to an even more progrock radio group! Yes, the albums and songs are less good but at least they get heavier again!

The next song up is called Man on the Edge, and it’s based off of a Michael Douglas movie called Falling Down, and it’s on Netflix, I recommend you watch it before listening to the song

IMO that is the best song on the album. Blaze is so speak singy and monotone and he becomes repetitious.

There are 2 B-sides that should have been on the album. Justice of the Peace and Judgement Day. Both were B-sides to Man on the Edge which was the first single from the album

Actually Bruce prefers "The sign of the cross" to this one since he sings it live and this one doesn't. P.S. I have seen both Bruce and Blaze live in Rome and I must say that Blaze is not at all poor as many (cazzaroni) say. Ciao Hurm1t.

Just realised Mr Hurn1t react to a live version of Sign of the Cross from the current The Legacy of the Beast tour 2022 with Bruce singing it, there isn't an official video as far as I'm aware. If you look up Earnest Nesbit on KZbin a version from 2018 recorded in Birmingham England, or simply type in Iron maiden Birmingham 2018 and his list comes up, also I was at this concert to right near the front oh was incredible AWSOME, there are flashing lights in it though so don't know If you would be able to watch it. It's a good version though. As you will see the whole of the performance was recorded oh go on react to the whole Iron Maiden The Legacy of the Beast tour Birmingham 2018. It was fabulous.

Essa musica é muito boa, tem um groove legal e o solo é bem viajante lembrando o solo da Where Eagle Dare. Mas outra faixa que é destaque desse disco e que deveria abrir o disco é a speed "Man On The Edge". E para fechar o disco tinha que ser a épica "Sign of the Cross". Mais uma inversão na ordem das faixas nesse disco.

Honestly this song is one of my favorites from this album, mostly because it's based on the book which I loved. I think the riffs are badass, Blaze sounds cool, lyrics are great, and that awsome harmonized riff towards with Blaze's woahs gives me shivers man. I think you are pretty picky when it comes to solos and I even though I love my solos, the rest of the song was good that a okay solo like that one doesn't ruin the song for me.

Bruce sang some of this songs including this one (hello Janick for playing completly different the intro) and they were alright because the band play them faster. So that part we cant blame Blaze.

Very diffrent stylistically. If this was a diffrent band and not iron maiden people would hail blaze and these albums. People dont like change
@DM-rc4yu2 жыл бұрын
People don't like change when the change isn't good, it's not that complicated. If what you're saying was true, Blaze's solo stuff would be held in a much higher regard but it isn't, even if it's better than The X Factor.

@@DM-rc4yu I agree. If this album was released by an unknown band, I personally doubt it would be remembered or recognised by other than a handful of people. But hey, I could be wrong and we’ll never know.

An alright song for this album. Yes, it's about the book. Also could reflect today's social media. I think you are spoiled on Iron Maiden's guitar solos during the golden age of Maiden. It's a tough comparison to make Hurm.

Well whoever did the lyrics is clearly deaf as the 5 line of the chorus should be "Something willing us" which is what Blaze sings.

Truly uninspired and uninspiring years for Iron Maiden. The best Blaze era songs are worse than 90% of their previous material, the rare exceptions being some of FOTD and NPFTD songs.
@badmotorbreath52062 жыл бұрын
This song is ok but like most of their songs in this era, too flat, single-paced, repetitive and dull (as others have put it) for my liking. To be clear, it has nothing to do with comparing to other eras.

That's my problem with Iron Maiden, they are absolutely amazing, but the guitar solos are too short compared to other bands. Anyways, they're the best.

You just haven't heard enough Maiden songs apparently. Seventh son of a seventh son has somewhat 3 minutes long solo, same long as The duellist, Flash of the blade's solo is more than one minute (in an all in all 4 minutes long song), and many of their songs have even two separate solos.
