Part 1 - I buy a gunship grey CVO Road Glide 2018 model, stage 1 and transform the bike into a full house stage 4 with cutting edge suspension. This is a complete build with testing of the motor, fuel economy and the suspension is put through its paces. This is an honest review of the stage 4 harley davidson upgrade kit. Good to see the whole crew is well at the shop. It brought a tear to my eye to see Cole and all. I can't believe that new cvo only had that much power. Why pay 40k for a bike that can't even make 100hp with a stage one. I see why your investing what about 13k for all that with labor. Damn that means that bike will cost over 50k. Wow! You definitely in a different league then most your viewers . But hell you earned it buddy. Can't wait to see the burn out.

This is the problem with Harley’s in Australia, they are too expensive for the average enthusiast even just to maintain. If they were made with a more achievable price tag they would sell a shit tonne. The new changes coming to Harley lineup will be interesting though.

@@lulurobot2065 maintain em yaself . I’ve done cams and pistons in my vrod. All servicing done myself and trust me when I say this. I’m not at all mechanically minded. But I’m obsessed with motorcycles so after a lot of research I thought F it and went in head first. 25k kms later and I hasn’t missed a beat.

@@Iswhatitisssss I agree with you. It's no cheaper here in the states. I do all my own work to. I have put 20k on my Dyna here in the last two years. On my 4th back tire and 3rd front tire. They both need replacement again. Between the cost of tires and servicing it like it's supposed to be done. With high quality lubricants and good tires. I have had to cut back how much I ride. I'm coming up on the 50k service and I may bring into Harley for them to give the once over to see what I'm missing. But it's just gotten to be very expensive to keep up in top notch riding condition

SO I have had to cut back how much I ride. The tires are killing me in cost. I'm a mechanic by trade and get my tire guys to mount my tire or I do it old school way. But Harley wants $35. To balance each wheel. So I totally understand.

@@Iswhatitisssss I wish I could, anything with mechanics I’m absolutely hopeless, it pains me so bad having to pay for it. But yeh just failed last week trying to adjust exhaust covers from vibrating on the motor. Problem was ignition coil cover was in the way of the exhausts cover but the exhaust was also in the way of the screw locking the ignition coil cover in. I fucken lost it trying to fiddle around with my big hands.

Nice choice on the suspension, Wilbers is supposed to be the most advanced system, I went with Legend because of being only 5'6" and the shocks were offered at 12 inch the same as stock with the sag set for 1/2 inch of drop, that way I wouldn't have to be up on my toes at a light, hope you love all the upgrades when it's finished, it will be interesting to to see how fast it is.

Adding in: Recommend you consider upgrading the Primary Side: Man-O-War Compensator from Darkhorse; Clutch, Clutch basket & primary chain tensioner. Depending on how ridden, the stock belt drive is adequate, however I would do a Chain Drive Conversion (Zippers Performance has a nice kit; Fuel Moto and others also have these available) and eliminate the belt. You wouldn't want to be out on the road (specially out in the outback) and have a belt issue.

I believe we are in store for a ton of f bombs when the dyno numbers as impressive as they will be, don't show the tranny gears shearing away, the primary slipping orgiving up altogether. Hopefully the shop guys brought him up to speed. Otherwise it's a timebomb.

I've got a 121 cube Pro-One dominator and it pulls 138 on a dyno... but its only weighs 310.. So I kinda know what ur gonna feel like when you take your first ride .. enjoy mate you'll love it

I bought a 2019 FLTRU new and had a stage 4 kit done at purchase along with the Screaming Eagle full performance exhaust which includes the header pipe. At that time the Kit only bumped it up from 114ci to 117ci. Did not do any upgrade to the cam chest and used the Screaming Eagle cam that was included in the kit. The Dyno tune produced 125hp and 115 foot pounds of torque. I was a little disappointed with the torque number but the kit came with a horsepower cam vs torque cam. So, the thing would really come up on the pipe around 3500 and then pull hard to the end. So, in my opinion/experience, you building a 131ci, using a larger than what the kit provides throttle body, a S&S monster cam, upgrading the cam chest and oil pump, will hit the 160/160 mark or really close. You are right about just how much stinking fun it is "building/customizing" your Harley, making it uniquely yours is a crap ton of fun and the only thing better is riding it! Looking forward to this Bogan Beast's big REVEAL!!! Have a blast mate!!

GREAT idea to use the S&S Cam with the SE 131 kit. On a Road Glide CVO (like mine) I would have gone with the Ohlins with external reservoir tank but the suspension You chose are good ones, too.

👍👍 Yep, running 13" Ohlins w/remote resis and BBC 1" extensions for 14" and GP suspension 25 mm cartridges up front on both my built Streetglide and Dyna LRS. Rips the twisties!

LIGHTING! Totally agree. It is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, why motorcycle companies don't include the best headlights available for their bikes. I also ride a lot of nights and a well lit road is a must! Amazing after all these years how little Danny knows about bike components. There are race Road Glides and aftermarket turbos for 200hp+ on smaller motors which will be way faster than his 131. Hell Moonshine HD in TN is building 143ci motors but its all just to win dyno wars. I am sure it will be a nice bike though.

7000kms and however much of that thrashed through dirt. Seems it was reliable to me. If you choose to go the Stage 4 SE kit - Harley still cover you under the original mechanical warranty, so that speaks for itself

Liv’in TheDream Boss! Awesome build. Like mentioned in some comments, better ditch the belts and go with chain, more heavy duty compensator and beefy clutch to go with that hp kit. You’re transferring that new build horsepower down the line thru standard components that could fail. Again the SE Stage4 kit is all about making HP and you’re in good hands with the Geelong HD Lads. I’m guessing HD hasn’t tried to market the drivetrain bits as part of the Stage4 Kit. Price would go to the moon. New tranny? That’s a $5K+ item from Baker. Just food for thought Boss. Carryon Boss….The Show Goes On!!!
