I bought my first Miltoniopsis last week, the Miltoniopsis Edie Brown ('NYC' x sib) red. Hopefully it will do well so I can buy more! It can be seen in a video tour I did of my collection yesterday.

Brilliant! I just bought my first Miltoniopsis in bloom and it is very thirsty also. I put potted on in a slighter bigger pot with some moss, great idea!😊

This orchid now has good roots and is in spike.

If you're lucky, you will get multiple new leads from each of those three blooming bulbs and then the plants will be that much larger when you split them back up.

Hi, I have just purchased this plant, but it's in soil. Should I change it to bark immediately? I ordered it online and when it arrived it was out of the pot with it's soil everywhere. I am amazed it is still alive.

Depends how good the root system currently is? A strong root system will probably adapt to a repot. If you leave it in the current media, keep it on the dry side - just water around the edges.

The new space is really for the next set of roots although some of the existing ones may extend/branch into the new media.

I had to do this with my zygo the root ball was to big, so just slid it in a (slightly) larger pot and filled the edges

Roger, Get a chance to catch your channel from time to time..Like it...Very helpful.....I live in the United States in the state of Arkansas.....I only have a few orchids..(about 40 or 50.. mostly Phalaenopsis)....I came across some videos from Rick L....tried growing my phals in just lava rocks, and they seem to be loving it...I water about every 5 days by soaking in a big bucket for about 30 minutes, as they dry out quicker.....NO PROBLEMS with overwatering....plenty of air circulation also.....just an idea I thought I would throw you from across the pond....🙂🙂Thank You for your continued videos...they are very helpful......... Lava rock is really expensive here whereas I can get bark relatively cheap (I get a large discount from a supplier).
