Before when you did grow bags and the crop king strawberry buckets, do you have any idea if one method was more productive than the other? I was leaning towards using a downspout hydroponic grow system that utilizes wicking the nutrients from the downspout.

The bato buckets seem to grow more poundage. We just noticed the grow bag strawberries were constantly bigger.

Love the walk thru and updates! We have noticed our strawberries seem to like the bags more too, I think it's the drain to retain ratio being just perfect for them. Do you let the strawberries die and plant new ones each year? If so why not cut back and just revive after it warms up.

We usually just by new stock each year but this year we are going to let them go dormant then trim back. Dip in Hydrogen peroxide and store in the cooler till replant. Like you suggested its worth a try.

Does algae hinder the growth of plants if it gets in the hydro water? noob question I know.

So, algae itself probably does not hinder growth but when you get fungus gnats and then root larvae it's a real problem, so we try and keep algae to min.

I don't remember seeing if you have a double layer on the high tunnel roof. With the installation of the heater and in you area of Ohio is the trade off between reduced light and increased insulation a easy consideration as to which way to go for something light the strawberry production in the high tunnel. I would love to see how you make your egg foo young if you ever have time in some future video. Thank you for sharing and a belated happy new year.

I would be happy to show some cooking videos but not sure how well they would be received... We do have a double plastic on the high tunnel with a inflation fan. It does give us some R value but as you know not much.

So glad you found me. Ask anything you want. The greenhouse is 44x120 its a 2 bay. The high tunnel is 30x96

So, I was wrong the Those peppers were in since Jully and we have harvested 845. Not sure what i was thinking but I will correct on next video. You can grow peppers for years in a hydroponic environment. They will keep growing and get really massive. Just have to keep the pined to the trellis string because the branches so get so heavy with fruit without support, they just break.

happy new year, I hope you have a wonderful 2024. I have just started on hydroponic on a small green house in Australia and I have a question for you: I have a Bluelab truncheon stick, what EC do you have on your tomatoes and capsicums, thank you.

Wow that is great. Keep us informed on how it's going. So, we keep most everything in the greenhouse at 5.8 PH and 1.8 to 2.0 EC. The lettuce is lower at 1.5 in the summer and 1.8 in the winter. Hope that helps.

thank you so much for your response, I will adjust mine to your settings, I had it at EC 2.8 (too high) and 6.8 PH, probably why my plants are not doing so good, love's you all, keep up with the great info and videos. Allan

just checked my EC and it's gone up to above 3.0, added heap of fresh water to 2,2, we'll see how they are doing from that change/shock Hoocho recommended 1gram/1litre of NitroCal and or DiamonT,I think this is way too strong, more like 1g per 10litres for me

Yes I think your right... PH is what will get the plants to take up the nutrients and EC has to be in range. To high and you are going to have some problems. Good luck!!

We do not have any contracts or are endorsed by anyone... so yes, we can do whatever we want.
