Just hit 42 , recovered anorexic. Thanks to listening to your show, I've been focusing on getting stronger for the past 4 months and I'm putting on muscle. Most importantly to me, is the mindset changes. I had to go up a size in pants, and for the first time in 42 years, I didn't freak out. I was proud of the work I had done. Thanks for teaching in a way that could get through to me :)

47 year old female. This year I've lost 45lbs, reversed type 2 diabetes (no meds) and metabolic health overall. I started listening to this channel a few months ago when I decided i wanted to get strong after improving my health. The inspiration, motivation and knowledge I've gained is truly amazing, massive thanks to you guys and all those that comment and call in. I do compound exercises at home, using dumbbells only 2-3 times a week. Keep up the good work. Would love an episode covering diabetes and strength training. ❤ from 🇬🇧

I wish people like yourself could just stand of the rooftops and shout out your story for everyone to hear... Particularly the medical community. It is so hard to convince people who suffer from diabetes to lift weights. The medical community keeps pushing drugs and disregards the evidence that being serious about lifting weights can reverse the disease. Tell everyone you can, especially your doctors!! I think what would be helpful to have from Mind Pump would be a list of studies that categorically state how building muscle can reverse diabetes in most people. I've tried to find this but it's hard to find. These studies won't get published because pharma won't allow it. I would love to have a bunch of resources and literature that I can send people, especially my mom who is severely under-muscled and is on metformin.

@@evec2022often people are told it's progressive and it will only get worse. In some cases that's true if you don't change lifestyle ect. Although I'm managing mine, I know I'm likely to be sensitive to carbs but lifting has changed my life and given me more choice. I know, there isn't much information out there, sadly. I rave on about the impact lifting has had. Wish I had done it sooner. TBH it was daunting at first, I didn't have a clue where to start until I found this channel. All the best to your mum, hope she gives it a try.

I turned 50 this year and also just discovered your content in KZbin. I'm female, in my mid-40s, and am stronger than I have ever been since listening to Mind Pump. I started incorporating 3-5 rep sets and although I have not gained a ton of muscle mass, I've gained a ton of strength. I went from 15lb dumbbell press to 40lbs. I struggled doing 12lb bicep curls and am now doing 22.5lbs! Thank you!

It's not easy for a woman to put on a lot of muscle mass in general. We have an unhealthy view of muscular women due to social media and performance enhancing drugs. The strength you are developing is wonderfull though so keep up the good work.

@@FoereaperGaming Most older women know that they should have started building muscle a long time ago. We know so much about how muscle is protective against illnesses and older men and women are benefitting from the information. Young women should know better but I guess they will find out in a few decades!

@@brennand933 They haven't really increased, but during this same period of about 4 months I went from 115lbs bodyweight to 105lbs, at about 2200 calories a day. I'm still eating between 2000-2500 calories a day, high carb. I get about 90-100g of protein a day. The strength gains came mostly when I started lifting heavier. @@strongerbetterfitness3776 it might sound weird but I always heard that weights don’t give you a “feminine” look and I always thought that lifting with weights would make me more bulky or “manly”. I grew up reading cosmo magazines that would talk about not using more than 5 pound weights to keep from getting bulky. I think for me personally it was listening to all the wrong people and just having no idea what lifting weights actually does for the body. I’m not gonna lie I was worried up until til I went for it and started with some 25lb dumbbells I had laying around. I’ve already doubled the weight, I don’t have to cut calories anymore to maintainy weight and I’ve lost 2 sizes since starting 4 months ago. And I’m not bulky lol

I love that you are now talking about 40 and over. I will be buying the program. However what I wish was addressedl, it is very different for women after she hits menopause or is in peri meno. It isn't just a drop off hormones, they are basically gone (reproductive) or only exist in small amounts. There is no balancing of hormones after meno, even with HRT. We aren't men and what happens to us isn't what happens to men after 40. Women rapidly lose their reprodutuve hormones where men's is more odf a steady decrease. I would love if maybe you have a few experts on your show to talk about perimenopause and postmeopause, women over 40. Dr. Stacy Sims as an example would be perfect. i really do apprecaite you are thinking of over 40 somethings and starting with this program.

Would love some videos around body types (gain fat easily, gain muscle easily, can’t gain any muscle or fat easily, etc… endo whatever they’re called 😂 Then how do we tailor a life health plan (diet, cardio, and strength training) according to how our bodies develop? Additionally, there’s a lot of talk about strength training… would love some videos demonstrating proper training, best full body workouts (so we don’t automatically assume you mean a “box” gym that’s known for full body weight training) And before we can address diet and exercise we really need to learn proper time management which becomes the biggest hurdle to a healthy lifestyle. Thoughts?

But it annoys me when people 40 plus say "oh wait till you're my age blah blah blah." It annoys me because I know at 34 they weren't doing what I'm doing now, I see other people my age, trust me most aren't doing anything for their health. But I know when I turn 40 the goal post will be moved and it will be "oh wait till you're 45." Oh well, to quote Jay-Z " what you eat don't make me shit"

Which I’m not even very consistent with training my upper body as I am with my lower body. I also have a mommy pooch that I can’t seem to reduce. But, really don’t want to lose weight because I have a hard time gaining weight and keeping it on. So, it’s like if I want to look healthier and be able to build muscle. I need to just accept the mommy pooch or maybe I just don’t know what I’m doing.

I turned 40 this year. I am looking forward to buying this program. I've used many of the maps programs to help me train better and to have better mobility. On the bottom of your video description, it says 80% off. I think it was meant to say $80 off.

Guys, I'm so happy you made this new program I'm going to be getting it today!😁I would like to try to be a guest on the show I am confused about my diet, actually really confused and my workout toobecause sometimes I gain muscle really fast and feel really strong and then other weeks I feel really weak and cant lose my back fat. I want to keep my curves on my butt and hips but flatten my tummy but have cut arms and back but don't do cardio because you guys talk about not doing cardio 😅 I want a 90s bawatch body but more booty! Is that even possible!?

Love it. And love your channel. I'm 69 and have strength trained for decades and find myself following your channel guidelines. Would love to see a program for those of us that are even older than 40. Any suggestions for us really old guys?

I’m turning 53 in a few weeks. I have been working out for 3 months. First time ever. I did the first week of anabolic, I like it. Should I do this instead?

The 40+ program is for advanced or beginner? I turn 50 next year and am very active but still have some joint pain. I already own prime and prime pro.

How about a program for us older folks 65-70 who have joint issues, can we use this new program?

Recovery is the big issue. I could work myself almost to death on Monday, and line up again Tuesday and do it all again for the rest of the week, and for weeks on end, when I was 26-35. Now at 53 I can still work hard, but only at about 75%. I have to ration my energy to last 5 days.

Would this be for a beginner over 50 as well? I am new to weightlifting and I am 56. Thank you for all you do.

Would love to get this program for my dad as he never has structure in his workouts. Does it take into account injuries such as rotator cuff tears + surgery?
