This is my life mantra. I am 50. Everyone except my own mother, who knows the truth, swears I'm only 30. I refused to start againing mentally and emotionally. My skin looks far better than at 25. I'm older than a couple of my doctors. They call me "young lady". lol I literally don't crack. Age is the number of years you've been alive. That's it. =D - I survived breast cancer this summer. My positive attitude from day 1 of diagnosis helped my body stay strong and healthy (I cut sugar OUT)to withstand surgery (double mastectomy, which I chose just to get this cancer out of my life and move on) AND my tumor shrank because I was proactive and changed my eating lifestyle. My doctors were amazed and said "Your positive attitude was half the healing!" I agree. Some people accept being sick and just go down hill like they can't do anything. Now - my new boobies match my YOUNG state of being.

Oh congrats there! You are awesome! Stay beautiful and be blessed. The music group called BTS sings about that. Their album serious Love Yourself: Her, Tear and Answer are amazing positive songs. Their new upcoming album is called Map Of The Soul: PERSONA based on Car Jung's work. We are called ARMY and we feel blessed because they have helped many with depression and other things. They work with UNIFECF and spoke at the UN last September 2018. They're a South Korean band and although we have to look up lyrics sometimes it's ok. They are always so beautiful. Here's a link to Spring Day, kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnbId6WCiNCAo5o one of their most famous/loved songs, watch with cc's on. Hope you'll check them out. They sing in many genre so there's something for everyone because ARMYs are all over the world. Sorry for the long reply but I get so happy to talk about them. You'll not hear lyrics from any other artists nowadays which is a shame. Take care😊 here is the lyric video for your convenience kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmOrgop-gKmFe6s

I am only 26 and I aged tremendously in 1 yeat due to all the online frenzy about staying young forever. And young means no older than 24. I started to feel terrible at 25 and accepted that I am " OLD" and this affected my health and appearance. I totally agree that thoughts play a big role. I already deleted all my Social media accounts except youtube and I am gonna try this out and see what happens. HOPEFULLY, I will manage to get my cheerful youthful energy back ))

@@Random.338 I'll be 41 in a few months and I love it. So much happier and more fulfilled than I felt at 25. People who think that's old are freakin nuts!! Old is 80 ok lol. And even then, as long as you're healthy and have love in your life you can be as happy as anyone else. State of mind :)

It's awesome you got rid of social media! Just the ads and stuff we see constantly are enough. We really don't need to be adding to the pressure by comparing ourselves, etc. F that. I'm nearly 41, happy, confident and at peace. Not being on social media has been huge in that. Give your attention to things that make you feel good and that you learn from and leave the junk behind. Try guided visualizations for manifestation to get and be what you want. Meditation is such a positive and powerful tool for growth. EFT (emotional freedom technique) is great as well. It's here free. I'd check out Brad Yates and Gala Darling. Tap to reality :) much love to you beautiful!

I'm so sorry you had to go through this. Social media is TOXIC and I am off it for the exact same reason as you. I cried when I turned 20. I felt old and tried to get botox at 21. Ffs socials are doing so much damage to the youth of today, comment sections are disgusting. What are all these people going to do when they reach 30? Kill themselves? I hope not. Every single person in beautiful no matter their age. I'm just realising the importance of listening to those older than you because they have lived through it and they KNOW! I hope you are doing ok today and sending you all my love 💓

I'll be 72 soon and I recently finished carving a 9 ft. tall statue for a town.(and more carvings since). Two years ago I had my hair cut off to shoulder length and now it has grown past my waist and is still dark brown and thick. I learn new things (different forms of art - metal work, painting, making molds, etc) all the time, plus read, hike, do yoga and think of myself as young and strong. I've moved everything I own (!) three times in the last 6 months all by myself. My stick-shift truck with no power steering has kept my arms and shoulders very strong. I've been wondering why I look so much younger than others my age and now I know. Thanks.

This has been my mantra my whole life. SO glad to finally see the world coming round... 1. Cut back on meat, or no meat at all. 2. Fruits and vegetables, leafy greens, lots of them. 3. Sleep, sleep, sleep. Shut the world out when you need to. Don't feel guilty--it will carry on just fine until you're ready to rejoin it... 4. Drink 64 Oz of filtered water a day. Put lemon and cucumber slices in it to turbo - charge and cleanse internally. 5. SUNSCREEN! 6. Exercise. Hate it? Plop on the floor and just start gently moving and stretching, like you did when you were a kid sitting in front of the TV, watching cartoons. Who cares if it's not "proper" exercise, it wasn't when you were young, either :) 7. Watch a movie that was your favorite when you were 20, 23, 25, 18...really immerse yourself in it. Feel the freedom of just having fun. Reminisce, OK, but FEEL yourself at that age. Do it over and over until it becomes second-nature. Tell no one. If they look at you strangely, just smile. --If you feel you are too old, the Universe says, "OK" --If you feel you are young, the Universe says, "OK" BTW, my photo is from last November 2016. I just turned 58 :)

This is a great video. The last acceptable prejudice is discrimination against age. Sometimes the discrimination is toward people who are in their teens & 20s, mostly it's social & professional discrimination against people who are over the age of 40, sometimes even 30.
@FreeSpirit477 жыл бұрын
Many people in their 20s are most often guilty of this. They remark that people who are over the age of 30 are "too old" for this, too old for that. I'm well past 30, I work out 2 - 4 hours daily. No lines on my face, perfect health, high energy level. Most people think I am around 35 - 40. I tell them that I am between 18 - 200 yet I am closer to 18.

Biologically, I am 47 years of age but have always felt 19 years of age. At 19 I moved out of my parents house with confidence and eagerness to explore what lay ahead as an independent adult. 19 is the age I refer to when I begin anything significantly new. It's a great reference for me to drive into the newness with gusto! I especially appreciate her cheeky sense of humor; it's absolutely refreshing. Thank you again and again! 🙃

Great video. When I was young, I always used to do things with my opposite hand and my mum would give me a row for it. I still can do things with both hands, I'm not ambidextrous, but I didn't listen to her and that's why I can do things with my left hand. I've got a lot wrong with my spine and I found yoga. Worked wonders for me, I'm now doing my yoga teacher training, but a lot of physios and back experts told me to avoid it, especially on KZbin. I don't listen to them, it's my body and I know it best. When I practice it's like a morphine drip, the pain relief is paramount. I'm not supposed to do either forward or backward bends because I've got stenosis and bulging discs but I do the postures to where my spine will allow me, I listen to my body, there's no ego in yoga. My yoga teacher told me that I was one of the bravest people she knew, this woman has worked with kids with severe physical disabilities, so to be told that from her was amazing and I'm determined to be the best teacher. Not just for me and my students but to honour what she did for me. I still use a walking stick and I bought a dolly trolley because carrying a bag of bags with a bottle of water was only aggravating the pain and that made me feel older. I have the attitude that I need my stick to help with balance and pain, I see the shopping trolley as something that people of all ages use in Europe. Others have put the stigma that only the elderly use such items which is a load of rubbish and if it means I can go down the street do shopping and not be in agony by the time my husband picks me up, that in itself makes me feel younger and fitter. I'm only 46, I put on my makeup, still shop in new look and I always listen to music, especially when I'm out. If I've got Jlo blasting in my ears, I'm a trendsetting thirty something with my dolly trolley who looks after herself. Not a 46 year old with a disability. Why would I make life harder when all I've got to do is buy a dolly trolley so I can live my life?! So yes I have chronic pain, it's been there since I was 18! I had emergency surgery in my early twenties, I've had several relapses because the conditions are degenerative but I do the best I can and I don't let it define me.

I was in a profession I loved for years. I definitely forgot to get old and I certainly did not. Until I was 37 no one ever thought I was a day over 24. Things changed when I had my kids I felt young with them also however the stresses of maintaining a life for three people instead of one eventually took its toll and suddenly all this gray hair came out. I wasn't miserable, I was just entrenched in more responsibility than that I never had. And in there, I didn't forget to age, but I definitely forgot not to age

Oh my gosh this is amazing!!!! I have loved learned about the powerful effects of the mind . . . It’s amazing how much my life has turned around since starting this journey! Left abusive marriage to find my dream husband, preparing to full time travel, pursuing my passions. . . So grateful! I’ve always felt 16/17 so . . . Maybe I can tap into that and use this to keep vitality and live long into my 100’s!

This is so good!! The trouble is that although most people guess me to be around 54 years old. I want to subscribe to a dating site. I will not lie about my 70 years but the first thing they ask is my age. Evidently I cannot use any of these sites because I want to be known for the lively, vibrant woman that I am BEFORE the number of the years I've lived on the planet!! What to do??

I love this. I've sort of discovered this myself. For instance, if you put your hands together and interlace your fingers you will find that you do it the same way all the time, naturally, with one thumb always being on top of the other. I purposely started switching it the other way. I made myself listen to new music...music i had once told myself I didn't like and it really started making me feel younger. I started also brushing my teeth differently, putting my left shoe on before my right, when i always did my right first before. These are the sorts of things I have been doing. I just took a pic of myself today after watching this and I look younger now than I did 5 years ago. My skin looks better. I feel better. I walk every day too. That's so good for the brain. Someone just commented to me that they didn't know I was as old as I am. I am 35. I run into people I went to school with and I think I look younger. I often wonder if ancient people discovered how moving your hands and body changes your mind and that's why yoga became popular...or mudras?

When she talks about the brain making peoples eyesight better during the fighter pilot experiment, I was instantly reminded of one of the symptoms of dementia being that as the disease progresses, eyesight becomes more and more impaired, so it makes perfect sense that mind function can absolutely affect vision. Fascinating.

I believe this. I'm in a panic because suddenly I am looking really old and wrinkly even compared to 2 or 3 weeks ago. I used to never think about my age and I looked young but the last few months I started worrying about my age because I met someone much younger than me and I began to worry about my age, my looks and I keep saying and thinking that I'm too old, I too wrinkled and I think I made it come true.

Don’t buy into aging ,, ppl want you to always do this and that by your age...don’t believe in aging, because your body hears and believes what you say and your body becomes what you think ... xoxo

Years ago, I read somewhere that doing what one loved to do when 8 years of age is worth doing again... it will help keep one young. So if one loved swimming, for instance, that's what to do. Of course only do what is safe for one's self and others, including animals. At the same time, I read that the muscles have memory, so revisiting swimming or bike riding, or bush walking, or running, the muscles will soon become accustomed again - and strengthened. If art was your thing, go back there... do it again... your brain will feel joy. This advice works. I tried it. Then I fell by the wayside. Marissa has brought all this to mind again. Marissa is on the money here... & I enjoy listening to her voice...

Thankyou, l feel 23 years, but my birth body is in the 70s, yet strangers generally inform me that l look 60. However l find some family members, get frustrated, or show concern, when l go out for a days 12 to 18 mile cycle ride. All my younger brothers and sisters all have silver hair, mines brown, yet lm 6 to 16 years older. So yes mind things help. I guess maybe over the years l,be done lots of different voluntary work. From children’s play schemes, coffee mornings, concervation. Also did 3 different careers, over a 30 year period. So guess doing younge thoughts and things, yes it does have benefits. Also learned to play piano and violin in my 60s. Universal love to everyone.

The mind does not stop learning it gives up when you do so lifelong learning is essential for self improvement. Retirement is the worst institutional mind programming for aging and premature deaths.

That experiment did not make people's wrinkles go away. But did reduce aches/pains; other things that happen as one ages, like energy losses, reversed, for instance. Blood pressures normalized in some, etc. People using assistive devices, tended to reduce need of those. Forget to be old! Most people reach a certain age, and lose hope, get into a slump emotionally, and the world in general, fails to keep their elders included and participating. How we talk to ourselves, MATTERS!

Thank you. I'd starting to listen to the external environment and most horribly, to believe and accept it. My thank you comes from helping me to get on track again. Most remarkably, before I started to accept this premise most thought I was so much younger, lately that hasn't been the case. Belief is so important.
