You can also make lava (albeit slowly) by using a fired crucible sat above a heat source and feeding most types of stone into it, like cobble or netherrack. It's just clay + bonemeal so very accessible early on. It too can be hoppered into, but until you get into pipes and tanks you'll have to bucket the lava out by hand. The building gadget has a wheel UI you can access with a key bind, similar to what the tool belt does. It lets you change what shapes (staircase is a handy one) or directions it builds in, and it has an undo in case you misplace. If you bind the gadget to an inventory (ctrl+shift+rightclick) like a drawer full of cobble, it'll draw from that inventory to build. It can also recognize a drawer controller or an applied energistics ME controller as a valid inventory (but not the simple storage root or refined storage controller) and have access to all their connected storage. Handy if you're building a house or something so you don't have to keep restocking your personal inventory. Yeah that's a bit of a trek. When you pulled up warped forest on the compass it listed the nearest one over 1600 blocks away, so that was unlucky. You might have been able to bonemeal or twerk on the nylium you found early on to get warped fungus to grow on that but I'm not sure how reliable that is at growing the correct type.

Fired Crucible? Okay, got to build that for sure. Annnd I've got to take an episode figuring out the building gadget's ins and outs it seems. I'm glad you noticed that distance. Ugh... Though the next episode doesn't get a lot done, it is me getting back home with a lot of digging... Also, I think I twerked on the warped ground and it wasn't doing much... so I might have to play with that.
