I saw someone over on Tumblr saying that they felt like the torii gate up to Joel’s place adds a layer to the story of the city: traditionally, torii gates are on paths leading up to shrines and holy places. It creates a sort of class divide that meshes well with the dystopian themes: up on the hill, closer to the gods, is the well-kept fancy upper class area, but beneath that is the chaotic factories and rundown apartments of the vast majority of the inhabitants. He is always the one revolting but now you, the king maker, can revolt against the machine! Or at least find somebody else to lead the revolution. If you elect a revolution leader I think it should be pearl. I have some ideas on how you can revolt, and the first one is to fill out sooo much paperwork that he is flooded with permit change requests. Find your leader, get a group together and flood him. :)

i love your ads! Love all the vids and Minecraft building, but those ads are just so great! Just wanted to let you know they are a treat.

So these builds tell me that Impulse is the big (and evil) corporation in this dystopia, while Bubbles is just the regular guy trying to get by.

I just love that build you did! That build style is pretty rare when it comes to minecraft, mostly medieval and white modern houses. Nothing wrong with those styles, it's just refreshinf to see something new!

i'm pretty high right now and i find it amazing how detailed that building was for a game with just blocks in it. Truly a beautiful build

Maybe for some lighting in the dystopian building you could use glow lichen? Keeps the light levels above 1 to prevent mob spawning, but keeps the light level low enough to have the dark, dingy, feel to the build

i think most of the terracottas lend themselves beautifully to creating very natural and earthy pallets. the way the color is layered with the desaturated orange of the plain terracotta base creates some gorgeous warm tones and very subtle and muted cool tones

Actually, I think the Kleenex box proves that Etho is a developer and a good gamer. It is so funny.

Bdubs, thank you for giving us all something fun and energizing, but also calm and relaxing at the same time. I'm having a blast watching you build this season (though I'm very behind), and it's a huge inspiration. You and Scar are my favorite builders because of how much you apply to the (what Scar calls) "human element" or practicality or something Thanks!

I actually think that having elevation in the city would be very cool, not just hills and stuff but retaining walls and steps to get up places. It would add a lot more opportunity to have little crooks and cranny’s and in my mind that’s always a win

i can't even express how much I DON'T want to watch a commercial! But i will just to watch this guy be funny.

The city is gone be cool! If you guys haven’t planned in detail already, I would consider getting together and laying things out. Throw down markers for the roads and some rectangles for where buildings will go. Then you guys can both chip away at it over time and things will connect fluidly!

I totally love the road design, can't replicate it personally in my world but it gave me an idea for the tire marking in some of my background works. I always love the color Choice you do especially with a limited palette, It's very educational.

I love the dystopian and cyberpunk styles being added to Minecraft, a game built to be a cyber utopia. Its got a spicy dichotomy to it. i hope the three of your builds mesh well!

I really love the bits of building advice. They make these amazing builds alot easier to understand, and give me inspiration for my own builds.

why is it that bdubs' video titles are just so freaking cool

Wow! You give me Bob Ross vibes! Like at first it’s like ‘what’s going on’ then suddenly there’s a mountain and a lake (or in your case an amazing apartment block!) honestly you’re a wizard Bdubs. Truly an artist xx

about being really stingy with saving things, my mom will lay out used paper towel to dry if it isn't dirty (e.g after wiping just water) so they can be reused. paper towels are expensive haha
