Section 13 Hot Stuff is possible, however newly crafted items MUST BE DROPPED before Minecraft can add nbt data, such as useable on lava. I agree this is annoying and should be said in the map itself, but this applies to many maps.

The order matters on the last one because it "BUD" powers the piston if place on that particular setup (like what you see on flying machines!) which if you 'update' the piston, like placing a block near it... it will detect that it is being powered and then it extends... If you want to learn more google Flying Machine examples or Motors (most modern ones now use Observers though) or the Quantum Powering (if my memory serves right)

Why would you assume the map creator made a mistake on the piston level...I haven't checked but I'm sure there's no mistake. Doesn't seem like the kind of thing they'd make a mistake on, vs a bug on a large map. Just because you thought of a way it could work if it was designed differently doesn't mean there isn't a way to do it within the given constraints.

I know this is late but what you were supposed to do is push the wooden button above the piston to activate it then the one on the wall so that you could get piston A to deactivate before piston B allowing you to use piston C to push the glass upward and disconnect it from the sticky piston.

That piston one is possible you need to destroy the button on the first tick of its activation so the sticky piston drops it’s block which is a hard to do so I do not blame you. Also the reason you had to put the red stone block in that order is because it was bud powering the piston so it extended when you put the block on it updating the piston.

My computer is laggy so I tried using command blocks to set two redstone blocks (triggering the top and the other piston that's blocking the way), the command blocks are hooked up to the to-be-destroyed button pressed, and it actually worked

RedMatrix, it is entirely possible. You find the x value first via getting the piston to drop the block. From there you still have all the necessary buttons needed to unhide the y value. The button that breaks is only needed to get the x value so it doesn't provide any value after that, allowing it to be broken without any repercussions :)

Hey Jarderion, a lot of the time, map makers require you to drop items in your inventory in order to register it to gain an nbt, which is easier, but unintuitive. There is a way to register when you craft practically any item in the game, and execute a command based off of a scoreboard selector. The problem becomes when you craft the item you can't clear/replace it until it's in your inventory, and if you don't shift click it into your inventory then it won't be able to be cleared/replaced. Therefore, the best option is to instead use a string of comands to check if you have an item in every single one of your inventory slots, for each item needing an extra nbt and realistically use the "replace item entity" command to put a replica item with an added nbt tag in the detected slot. Then you'd need to give that person a unique tag once the replacement is successful, so that they command wouldn't repeatedly replace the item or have selector added into the detection to detect that specific item with an nbt tag to not be replaced. Which would be 37 commands for each item, just to detect if you have the item or not. (That's if you want to use functions, other wise that would be 72 commands) the ideal command would be /execute as @a[nbt={Inventory:[{Slot:1, id:"minecraft:stone_button",CanPlaceOn:["minecraft:!gold_block"]}]}] run replaceitem entity @s inventory.slot_number 1 minecraft:stone_button{CanPlaceOn:["minecraft:gold_block"]} 1, or something similar give or take a few mistakes. If this was 1.13 then you can use the mechanic of replacing crafting recipes with data packs :p

Grian is spelled the exact same way as Brian, but with a G. Any English speaking person would've pronounced it the exact same way because that's how English pronunciation works. ever heard of quasi connectivity? i probably spelt it wrong but basically if you have a source of redstone signal (a powered block, redstone block, obserever...) 2 blocks above or 1 block above and 1 block in any horizontal direction, the piston should be powered. the thing is, the piston checks for signal sources only when it detects a block update, which has to be 1 block in any direction, so the redstone block has to be there when you update the piston, so it extends. you could have done it in the opposite order, but you placed the redstone block last, so there were no block updates after that. also it doesn't retract even if you break the redstone block, until it detects another block update. if you want to know more, check sethbling's series "redstone lessons with a mojangster", where he records teaching a new guy in mojang how redstone works. he only goes through the basics, but with those you can build things like piston extenders, piston doors and i think sequential combo lock or something like that (you press buttons in a sequence and then the door opens)

Just played the map. The piston room relays on a really simple piston timing glitch (feature?) people have exploited for years to turn buttons into toggles. The piston map works. The map after it is actually imposssible.

The only cube that is impossible was the brown one. To do the piston room: 1st hit the highest wooden button. This activates the final piston. Then hit the buttin that activates the sticky piston. The normal final piston retracts 1st what means you can push the block up in its second to last spot, before the sticky piston retracts.

The problem with the piston room is not the sticky piston. Its the timing with the buttons. A sticky piston will push out and 'drop' a block if it is powered for one tick. What you needed to do was push the button on the side and wait, and just before the first piston returned to place, extend the lower sticky piston (the one you changed to a regular piston). This will give that piston just enough time to be powered and unpowered, letting it drop the block so you can raise it up to be pushed into place. It is a bit tricky but can be done. I watched a ton of Mumbo Jumbo and his redstone sorcery lol

I was 100% confident he needed to write NO for section 6. He either didn't or show it, but then that ended up not being the answer. What a stupid room. Actually most of this map was pretty dumb. Cool map concept just a poor execution IMO.

you extend the piston on the end, then extend the two pistons, the one on top goes then once the first one retracts the bottom one extends. Once that extends you can activate the piston at the end to push it up, then push it using the top one again. So in simple terms, single piston button to double piston button to single piston button to double piston button.
