It's finally here! I'm really happy with how this thing turned out and I'm super excited to hear what people think of it. If you decide to build this before the tutorial comes out, please let me know how it goes! I haven't tested this on any servers but I've tried to keep it as server-friendly as possible when building. Still, there are bound to be a few issues with the system that I haven't encountered, so just be on your toes and let me know if anything goes wrong.
Huge shoutout to Ashlaja and Inspector Talon for their help on this project!

IMPORTANT!! Do not build this sorter in any other orientation than the original! I tried to pinpoint the problem with 1 item from a stack disappearing for several hours and finally found the problem. When not facing the original direction as it was build, the second spawned minecart, that will carry single item of a stack to fill in back the filter will slightly turn after getting spawned and therefore will be slower and mess up the timing. This pulls one item out of the cart with the stack and the second minecart rolls through with still the one item in it, also messing up the system through infesting its cart system with other items And yes, I tried it both in singleplayer and on a server. Same result. If you want this sorter to work flawlessly, build it in its original orientation Also had problem with blocks going the wrong way when turning the sorter by 180°. Just keep it at the original orientation to guarantee fail safety. Additional: Btw the schematic has one error, one redstone has to be rightclicked. If you don't find it, create a new schematic from the world download, which is correct.

I don't want to jinx it, but so far managed to get it going on my server. Both issues I was having seem to be working now. 64th item not ending up in the chest seems (so far) to work by removing some water at the beginning, had to speed the minecarts up a bit. Shulker unloader dumping minecarts into the item storage system - changed the bottom cart yeeter into a amethyst bud yeeter with a hopper minecart under the cauldron and lowered the dispenser a block with an observer powering it. What was happening the hopper under the cauldron was sometimes too slow to grab the minecart, so it ended up in the water stream with the items instead. This has been my favourite project because without a block-by-block tutorial I've had to study the mechanics and learn how to debug/fix things that go wrong. I feel like I know how this one works a lot more than your previous because of this and have learned a ton about redstone. Cheers

The way you've implemented everything is great and has given me ideas for something which I've wanted to do for a while. Basically, I want to build a shopping list input, so in a similar way I want to take out a stack of items per item in the input and drop them in a chest, if the chest gets full it migrates them to a shulker, if there are 27 of the same item detected, it will fill a shulker and deliver that to the out put chest. Great for builder requesting items from a storage system

Fantastic upgrade. Exactly what I wanted. I already built the last version of V1, but might tear it out for this. It's a massive QoL improvement. Cart consolidation is an interesting and genius solution. I never ran into the despawning since I never had enough of a single type to worry, but thought of it as a possible issue. The only thing I think we're missing is a list of containers that need to be prepped, since that's the only thing the schematic won't show you. IE: chests filled with hopper carts, barrels filled with dummy items for comparators, filter chests filled with specific dummy count, anything needing items for clocks, etc. Some of it was obvious from the brief shots you showed of you opening them, but missing some of those can be catastrophic when building. A full tutorial will be nice for people who prefer that, but exact item counts are hard to guess when using a schematic.

Congratulations, and I cannot say enough how deeply I appreciate your focus on engineering it just right and making it as computer efficient as possible. My current laptop is slowly dying, and I generally always design everything in any game to be as lag friendly as possible. Nothing is worse than an area becoming so laggy that you forget what it's like for the game to run smoothly. More lag efficiency means more stuff!

Your last design was amazing, it didn't work on our paper server but I ended up figuring out that was due to dead blocks in the game. We changed to fabric and it worked perfectly. It was my first redstone build after a sugar cane farm, lol. I ended up figuring out how it worked after spending a lot of time looking at it (and I mean a lot of time) and after checking out the world download, it seems it will take me a bit of time to figure out how this one works as well. I'd love to just copy and paste it into the world to test it and see if it works but unfortunately that isn't possible on this server. I'm going to keep playing around with it in creative, watching it work to see it in action and hopefully understand it better before I start the build. Great work on this new design.
@Kernelcoffee

I built it on my server (fabric + the usual optimization mods, tps 20 and mspt 15-18 ), it is an amazing piece of engineering. I extended it (14/13/11+3) The timings are pretty tight and have a few issues due to that. Sometimes the bottom cart is missing the 64th item cart which goes into the cart line. (saw the comment for the rescue hopper, i'll try that) I've also had some issue with looks like hoppers not being fast enough at times which brings a lot of issue where the item in whitelister is replaced by cart or cart are not filled completly with placeholder items so they pull 2 items from whitelister and breaks everything (piston stays extended) or in the shulker unloader, if the cart bringing the other filler carts back into the line is late, then the cart is not completely filled which get regular item into the unloader cart line. I added a double chest filled with carts as a bigger buffer for it). This is most likely not an issue from your design but from my server however shows where it can break where tolerances are not met. 2 modifications I made were the extra buffer/reserve of carts in the unloader and extended the timer in between cart with 3 more 4 ticks repeaters to increase tolerances on some timings. Again amazing work, cheers.

@@natewalker4666 At the end of the day, although amazing as it is, the timings are too strict and it keeps breaking on my server even with me in the chunk to make sure it's properly loaded. amazing design lummie! thanks for sharing this with the community just a side note for anyone trying to build this on their survival world: 1. use both the schematic and the world download, this last one specially for the entities in the contraption that the schematic does not save 2. check previous comments on the shulker box unloading station placement of the rails, in case they connect underneath the shulkers, as it will mess up the system 3. make sure the barrel next to the shulker unloader has an item (any) in it. that will allow the comparator to read a signal out of it and start the clock that makes the unloading happen amazing work again lummie, hope to see more of you pretty soon! :-)

This is amazing. The cart consolidator is amazing. The minecart timing dance is a work of art. I'm getting the same problem as someone else in the comments. When using the shulker unloader, minecart(s) end up on the pressure plate input stream. Then I have to pick it up out of the storage chests and put it back in the shulker unloader minecart input stream. Checked the minecart chests and they're all full. The shulker unloader barrel also has one item in it. Edit: Fixed it. I swapped the shulker box system cart yeeter with an amethyst bud yeeter and it works great. You're a genius.

Its a bit slower but items will never despawn if u dont put lot of shulkers of the same item. Anways, 1 wide tileable its imposible in this design so make this design 2wide tileable its good choise. Works fine on PaperMC using the Eigencraft Setting, Cannot say for the Alternate Current option. Im using this as my main sorting system, and can't find any issues with it. Shame there wasn't a tutorial, but thats fine I can build from schematics easy enough :D. I recommend people take a good look at how the system works, and build chests, then redstone behind it, then move onto the minecart system / input area last. Take some time to paste the schematic in a creative world and learn how it works, how to change filters etc. You also need to update the schematic, theres a piece of redstone dust in the input system right next to the top rail line chest, it locks a hopper when set in a Plus, you need to right click it once into a dot or it will lock the hopper, and cause items to lock up the system. Other than that, works great! Nice work Lummie. Here from TangoTek and his v1 Video

Hi! I see you successfully built this, I was wondering if you would be willing to look at my world download & see what I did wrong? I spent probably hundreds of hours building it from the schematic & have painstakingly checked & re-checked all of the redstone & chests/barrels, but nothing happens when I put items into the input. I fixed all of the common issues I’ve seen in the comments section but to no avail. Thank you in advance!

Hi, I was searching and warching some multi items sorters, and the Maizuma is very good, the work of Rapscallion is great, but this is so interesting. In some ways this mechanism is better. I would like to see if it could be taken farther. Like with some shulker display, bulk storage, or a combination of storage systems. I really hope this is the beggining of something so good. It's already good, but I believe it still have a lot of potentian for more.

Would you consider making a general tutorial on how multi item sorters work please? Just basic stuff explaining the logic behind all those complex mechanisms. Awesome build and video!!

My tutorial on the v1 sorting system does a pretty good job explaining how everything works and it should give you a good understanding of how cart multi item sorters work in general. The tutorial I make for this system will be similarly in depth.

Most amazing storage system I have ever seen in my life, you are truly a genius. I am looking forward to the tutorial, as the machine is pretty complex. Have you got any plans for designing a bulk storage system? MIS storage and bulk storage really go hand in hand because you always have thing like cobblestone or so, where a you dont need sorting, just a massive quick storage.

No plans currently to make a bulk storage, you could just use any other bulk storage design you want and hook it up to the misc chest of this thing. That way you can get the quick, fine grain sorting of important items, and then anything else gets dumped into a standard bulk storage system.

amazing improvements, can't wait to build it on my realm. What happens to items that do not match any of the item filters?

They go to a specified miscellaneous item chest.

Love this video! I was curious since the minecarts are so particular abt being at the right place to exchange items is this able to be expanded? Or able to be moved around at all w/ where input chest is, etc... Thanks so much for the content, I look forward to anything else you design!

It can be expanded and moved around without problem, as far as I know

@@lummiethief I believe at some part in the video though you mentioned how the minecarts where timed to arrive above the other one so that it re-picks up the item. I feel like when expanding it this timing would have to be accounted for and adjusted correct? Thanks for the response!
