I swear Buddhism is the only thing that has been of any real help during my most difficult times
@gregorylibby17703 жыл бұрын
Buddhism never asks you to “believe” the irrational; never asks you to believe the impossible and take on “faith”.
@yos.56843 жыл бұрын
@@gregorylibby1770 exactly, and I found that's why so calming. There's no "reward" to stand suffering. It just teaches you life is what it is and the best you can do is accept it with tranquility. So much suffering comes from our thoughts and I find other religions to feed the monkey mind circle.
@pratikkafle49833 жыл бұрын
@@yos.5684 yeah true But friend why u comparing religions Buddhism doesn't teach criticizm either!
@yos.56843 жыл бұрын
@@pratikkafle4983 I don't think it's bad to criticise other systems of ideas or beliefs as long as you don't insult. In my opinion (and this is not a strictly Buddhist opinion), all beliefs should be challenged and criticised in a constructive way, even Buddhism. Ideas should be criticised, although not people who choose to follow them because of it. As far as I've read, Buddha himself asked whoever wanted to embrace his teachings to judge them by themselves and not follow him blindly. It happened I was raised Catholic and it harmed me more than did me good, and it definitely worsened my monkey mind because of the anxiety, guilt and superstition the system produces unless you do and think exactly how they teach you to do and think, and that's why I highlighted that particular issue, since tackling the monkey mind is key for Buddhism and it's the thing that helped me the most. It also teaches non-attachment, and that also involves attaching to beliefs an ideas. I think if someone feels offended when their beliefs are challenged, it means they're too attached to them, which is understandable, but not ideal. This is something I've experienced and become aware of it. I understand it's a tricky issue, but humanity evolves by breaking and changing ideas, and so much suffering is caused because of intolerance to hearing something that contradicts your (human-made) set of beliefs. Respect for life itself and human beings should come before any idea.

Honestly, I am born in a buddhist family and I have always been calm. I learnt and imbibe the basic human principles of compassion and kind from my parents, school and my society. It really helps to overcome difficult times like depression and anxiety. I see so many westerners unhappy and depressed about life, now that i live in France. When I look at them I feel sorry and I feel happy that I have already learnt those basic human principles as love, patience, compassion and all the positive abstracts you could imagine of.

Being present without the need to cling to anything, in particular: - Thoughts, memories and fantasies. - Do not judge others nor yourself - Do not get attached to physical forms: they are all illusions. Everything which exist either visible or invisible, is made up of particles including ourselves. What we perceive as our existence from the moment we were born until now, is just a play projected by our consciousness and perceived by the individual as reality. There is no time nor space and no form either. What we were trained to believe as reality is just an illusion of the mind. 💖🤗😊 If you understand the language of computers, know that this is a simulation, a sandbox, where consciousness has been experiencing Herself through dualism but, in actual fact, everything is O N E! 😄😇🥰

Wow, its rare i find other people on the internet who see beyond the show! We are of the same suchness but lets suspend belief for a while and play the game, “how coincidental” 😂😂

no! you are delusional, we exist, we are real, and so are the objects that surround us, the only thing that people forget is that our time alive is finite and exhausting every second.

@@pedrolopes3542 they arent saying things are real in an objective way, shes saying the symbolic representation that we humans create thru abstract concepts do not exist, and cannot do anything on their own, so dont worry about them. The simulation talk is more or less a joke that i feel youll only understand after some years of zazen meditation
@Ikaros233 жыл бұрын
@@pedrolopes3542 the point is that the abstractions of the mind and 98% of the anxiety is " the simulation". Creations of the mind. The objectiv world DO exist, but your abstraction of it DONT. The same way that mathmatics is not the real world, it`s simplification of the world. No two apples are alike, but in the mind we can see a " fiction of a perfect apple". This fiction is the " simulation", it`s not a real apple. The same way you can think about your self and " objectify" your self in the mind. This is not the real you but only the ego`s projection of how it thinks you want to see your self. This fiction is always a destortion and is based on a superiority complex or a inferiority complex or even a combination. And if you do zazen you can learn to observe your minds working of it`s own, just the same way the hearth is beating on it`s own. This realisation is apart of Zen buddhism and sitting meditasjon.

Living in the Netherlands, mountains aren´t readily available :). So I am like the forrest. Leaves are falling, regrow, wind, rain and fog comes, birds coming and going, but trees stay, ground stays, water stays. The energy movement is like a big tree falling, making a place in the forrest and sun coming in. Lots of young trees start growing. Love that as you speak a cloud comes in front of the mountain and leaves. Well done universe.

Thank you very much for all your teachings. Got to know you in January this year. Since then, I started meditating daily and (slowly, and little by little) getting new awareness in my life. Also started treating myself much better way by accepting the fact and being with it, just as you said "let it come, let it go". This gradually started improving my health and eventually my eating habit as well. This brought me a chance to see my own tendency and difficulty much better from outside of river ("when we are in the river, we don't see the river") also brought me some great outcomes. I was infected by covid-19 recently, but I was not panicking.and was not too worried as I got to know myself (both body and mind) much more than ever before. So I was able to feel the change of my immune level and was also able to tell what nutrition I should go for. "Survived" is not maybe not a right word. But I could live with it without any medicine and "panic of panic" even though I had the common symptoms (pain, fever, short of breath, headache, nausea, fatigue). And it's now gone. Thank you very much again Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche for all your great teachihgs.

Very educative. I love his videos. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to you.
