I’m 26 years old and we don’t have company often maybe once in a blue moon not including my in-laws, but I wasn’t taught how to host...my mom only hosted during holidays she too didn’t have much company over. I wish I was taught in school or something...it seems like younger millennials don’t “ host” I’ve visited others and they don’t even provide water the only times there was actual hosting the proper way they had their parents and grandma in the home. I realize I was taught a lot of useless stuff...I mean what does finding “x” do for me? As a stay at home mom Lol 😆...anyways hopefully in time I gain more friends in our new neighborhood and will take these tips in my own life. I already learned a lot of baking and cooking, housekeeping, planning from 1940-50s educational videos on KZbin. Surprised many old school tips still work out today!

Sofia! You got this! I had my first home at 20 and even though I did have my mother as a role model for hosting, it is very different doing it on your own. I used to call some of my friends over for a "just because" gathering or would as a neighbor over for coffee or tea just to chat. PS, I like to host with a buffet. set up or appetizer party. For me, it's a lot easier OR how about hosting a pot luck and let each person bring something.

Sofia, I think it's a sign of the times. I am in my late 50s, have four grown kids, and I or one of my siblings still host the holidays. Our kids never do. Probably because they live in small apartments or are still at home, with today's uncertain economy and the high cost of living in the area we reside in. I didn't grow up in a "hosting" family either. My parents had five kids and we lived in a very small house and on a shoestring budget. You'll get it, though. I did. KZbin is a great help these days. I'm still learning new things from it.

One thing finding "x" does for you is to learn problem-solving strategies and helps to open your mind to solutions that work. And in hosting, cooking, parenting, relationships, life, etc., there is definitely a need for these skills!! Signed, a former teacher 😉

Lol as a French person watching that it’s funny. It’s American pie way lol The dough needs to be done at home prior with east flour and butter . Homemade is so much better. Also I would filled ramequin from dough at the bottom . I would not use sugar at all but lemon zest and lemon squeeze. As a replacement of cinnamon my nanny used to do to nutmegs.
