@@1videofiend Yes, shooting-brake is a coachbuilding term, you'll never hear it in normal conversation here. I've never heard it said at a classic race meeting either.

@@1videofiend You are correct the terms were interchangeable but since about the 1960s the term shooting brake has been used for vehicles that are a cross between an estate and a coupe (Reliant Scimitar GTE, Volvo 1800ES etc). To be picky it was a Mini Countryman as it has wood on it (like the Morris Minor), the Mini estate did not have the wood.
