awesome! I do think it makes it super relatable and helpful to see someone who thinks of themselves as having been really materialistic and into shopping, to approach minimalism at their own pace, and it helps show people ideas that might be unusual to most, like the idea that something you aren't using should be given away or gotten rid of, etc etc. Thanks for doing these I really enjoy it!

I've been using that put stuff away technique for my kitchen/home for some time. Works so well in helping you discover what you really need to keep.

I have a new rule for myself,if you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin, so I am ditching lotions, perfumes, most stuff. Coconut oil is good for dry skin, baking soda for tooth brushing, coming up with some natural recipes. One pair prescription sun glasses, one purse, one hat. I put all my winter supplies; one pair boots, scarves, mittens, snow pants in a zippered canvas bag. Now I know where that seasonal stuff is. Summer gear for bike riding, hiking etc.in a similar bag, camping gear also in one gear bag, in one closet on the floor so I can hang clothes above. Got rid of my shoes that pinch, books and a series of magazines that I have been hanging onto since the seventies. Don't wear most of my small collection of jewelry so I give it away for family and friend birthday presents. I decided to keep the craft supplies for now, we'll see how much I actually use it but I definitely do not need a craft room. I find I want a smaller space too, my space was perfect for my stuff but now not perfect for me.

You have inspired me to go through my 'other' makeup drawer I don't go in much and get rid ........my new drawer is sparse with my cruelty free products but I'm getting there and I've realised I don't need so much now anyway .....thank you x

Nakd 2 is all I wear too, also mostly chopper with a little tease in my crease and sometimes a smidgen of snakebite to darken things up!

This video reminds me of when my husband and I were packing up to move to China. We sold almost everything and started from scratch. It's such a freeing feeling to not own a lot of stuff!

maddy, it's not good to let make up in the bathroom because the humidity there is too high for this kind of products. and you should check the expire date after you opened them.

Hi Madeline, I have been watching and learning for your minimalist series I love the videos your so real! I am having trouble though with things we haven’t used yet e.g. hat scarf and gloves set for the kids bought in summer on sale and put away, now have too much. I don’t want to be wasteful and I don’t want to sell them just incase we need them 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m a mum and have had to struggle to get everything we own as started off with nothing. Any ideas?

You've made a HUGE progress. Considering where you started and where you are now, you have something to be very proud of. A have a shopoholic in my family and she continues doing what you've been doing well into her 50s. It's hard to say how much she is actually making, because she probably hides it from everyone to be able to spend more on clothes. It's really sad, actually. Congratulations on being able to break the cycle.

Some of the colours contain carmine :( but they are cruelty free. I'm currently using up my Naked palette too, so I can replace it with a vegan one!

Thanks so much for these vids Madeleine, they're wonderful! I come from the exact same background, as you mentioned, it's a constant joke with friends and family that I'm also the girl from confessions of a shopaholic. I owned so so so many things. When decluttering, I'm literally getting rid of thousands of $ works th of items that are brand new with tags. The no. 1 struggle that I have is, when I love fashion so so much and am inspired everyday by all the wonderful new trends, Instagram fashion girls etc, sometimes I really struggle to not buy buy buy. How did you deal with this? Any tips would be so appreciated. Keep up the wonderful work :)
