Summary: 1. Clean while you cook. 2. Clearing of surfaces right before you sleep/go out. 3. Keep a space for each item. 4. Eliminate paper tiles. 5. Does it take less than 5 mins? Yes? Do it now. 6. Be patient.

Exactly! I've seen folks who lollygag about doing their Chores, ie putting clothes away, keeping the bathroom clean, etc then they can't understand why the house is so dirty. When My Mother went away to take care of My Grandfather I took care of the House, but the one thing I remembered is that after doing the Laundry in Summer hauling it out then hauling it in then Ironing, My Father didn't put his Shirts away. He had them on the Doorknob. When I asked why, he said they were easy to get access to.

I love the tip about if it doesn't take longer than 5 mins, just do it. Instead of lounging in bed for an extra 10 mins, I got up, folded and put away my laundry that was sitting at the foot of my bed for most of the week. I even made my bed! Tiny steps. Thanks!

My down mood takes a back seat when I follow the rule of tidying up before bedtime. When I get up in the morning to start my day and a clean kitchen awaits me, I cannot help but smile. It sets things in motion towards having a more positive day. My motto is to 'set yourself up for success'. If a tidy kitchen sets a positive mood, then by all means, form simple short habits just as you've described to ensure a good start to a wonderful day. Happy Space = Happy Face!

Tracey T wrong turn: I guess you don't know how sensitive and destroyable this new tech is. There are cases of people registered as dead and the poor man had to go through some deeds to prove he was still alive. My father was about to lose his entire 20 years of work experience in a second because the file could not be found. Luckily he still had his original papers... The future: if your credit card is not recognised you don't get to buy your food

you have a beautiful soul, this shines right through! Thank yo so much. Many of these I apply in my daily life. I also found that keeping a plate next to cooker is very useful where I can place and reuse small spoon, large spoon and spatula. This way I am not using up new ones. With a timer I do similar thing but instead I time my tasks for next time. As some can take longer than others. So I know sweeping up my kitchen floor takes me 2 min that's easy! When it comes to bathroom its around 20 min so this one I plan a bit more because I have two little ones. For same reason I no longer have one day I tide up all house, I just have little tasks around the house every day. That is less stressful :) new subscriber and watching all your videos, your voice is so soothing. thank you!

I used to have severe obsessive compulsive disorder, and since I started to watch your videos and simplified my living space, I have become a lot less stressed and noticed my NEED to adjust my (dare I say) junk and get rid of unnecessary possessions, I realized I did not need them. I was using my "things" I owned to define me and never realized how terrible clutter was making me feel. I just wanted to not worry about it, because when I did, it triggered my OCD. But ironically with becoming more organized, I don't feel like there is a million things to adjust every second of the day. I just know everything is organized properly and love all my open space that was hiding under my clutter mess. Also, the dusting is much easier and less time consuming! I think it's important for us for remember material belongings do not define ourselves, we define ourselves. Thank you very much!

the number one tip that has helped my house hold is to put things away as soon as you get home. (shoes, book bags, purses, jackets, mail ) It saves so much time in the end because you're not looking for lost stuff or a certain pair of shoes. plus, it keeps your living room and any surfaces free from clutter.

agree to each and every point.. specially the one where you mentioned to have place for everything.. I had written a blog post on the same one.. I truly believe if you have dedicated place for every item it not only becomes easy for you to find it but also easy to maintain things and keep your home neat and clean.. I can blindly pull out anything from my closet as i know where it is and I can also know if someone has used it in my absence since I'm sharing my room.

What a nice video! I now feel like sharing it with those overly impressed friends who think cleaning is a day job to me ;) It's so simple and not even that time consuming to keep your home your home, organized and tidy. Something I also do is to minimalize the things I need to grab quickly (pens, keys, wallet) and put only those things on my desk or other surfaces, also organized in their own containers. All the other stuff goes in boxes, and this way it looks a lot better and saves so much time I'd otherwise waste tidying :)

I do this everyday. I love leaving my home clean and tidy when I go to bed, and wake up to a new day with everything ready for the day ahead. I also watch Sophia on You Tube on her channel "My Great Challenge" and she is following the "Fly Lady" way. It's pretty much what you are saying. One (of many) really good ideas from it is to do one load of laundry a day. That way its not over whelming, especially if you have a family. I always clean up as I cook. It makes big meals like Christmas dinner so much easier on me. All I have to do it rinse off the dinner ware, glasses and serving dishes, put them in the dishwasher and I'm done. Another favorite channel is Katherine on Do It On a Dime . I'm glad to have found your channel :)

Great tips! I clean the house every Monday morning according to a household plan I made. Every week, I do basic stuff (bathroom, dusting, vacuuming, washing clothes) plus an extra thing, like washing the windows or cleaning the kitchen cabinet doors and the fridge. After a month, I've done everything, and then I start over again. Well, almost everything. The shed and the insides of all cupboards are done once or twice a year. 😋. This way, I spend one morning cleaning, the rest of the week I tidy things almost daily for a few minutes.

I feel that your videos have so much useful and easy information and tips that I should watch them one at a time and try one or two habits at a time, for the best effect. :) I have a tip considering anxieties: if you have a task that you are afraid of, make yourself a cup of tea or coffee (or something else tasty and relaxing) and some small snacks, and drink and eat them while you're doing the unpleasurable task, to make it a lot more pleasurable and trick your brain. If you're eating, your brain assumes that you can't be in danger. Treating yourself will also release dopamine. Or I could just say, it's nice and helps you get through it. Works with stressful things in general. If you really don't want to study but have to, deside that you get a bite or sip every time after finishing certain points. And it doesn't need to be anything special, as long as you like it. With simply juice and bread, I have done math exercises with my friends for hours. (A great way to spend your weekends, haha.)
