Buy nice, not twice! Something I always live by. I did a ski season in Europe and invested in a pair of 120£ Hestra gloves. They lasted me the whole season and are still going strong. The people who bought cheap gloves 30-40£ bought multiple pairs throughout the season and probably ended up spending more overall.

Instead of an eye mask, pack a bandanna. I've used mine as an eye mask on the plane, a smog mask in Beijing, a neckerchief in the sun, and of course as an actual bandanna. Plus it rolls up into the size of a travel shampoo and weighs next to nothing. I also pack a length of 3mm shock cord. I've used it for clothesline, emergency belt.

Carrying 5 or so of the semi-nice but cheap ponytail rubber bands can be used for a gazillion things on their own and combined with things like the 550 cord. I've used them to adjust tent sizes, hang things, control cables and clothes and yadayada.

On the comment where you said " you can't afford to be hungover and miss a day " that happened to me during my trip to London. I had planned to go to the London Bridge but was entirely too hungover to go the next day. That same day the terrorist attack happened on the bridge. I went straight from being bummed about missing a day, to thankful I didn't go, and bummed about the attack. It was really strange honestly. Maybe it saved my life, who knows?

Compartmentalizing is definitely my favorite thing when traveling. I have about 6 different fabric bags with a zipper. One for flight: USB plug, 3in1 cable for phones, eyemask, toothbrush and earplugs. The Second got camera stuff and third got chargers. Best thing I've learned. And also those vacuum bags which you can roll out the air is amazing saver for space. -Antti/Lanttimatkat

My tip to never forget anything as an almost full time traveler is to have a basic packing list on my phone, this way I only have to add things that are specific to the destination I'm headed to, and it's much faster to pack!

Careful! You said "power converter" in the video. This isn't one. This is a power outlet adapter. Converts the pins to your liking, but NOT the voltage nor the frequency. For most electronic device, this will be enough as your iPhone charger (for example) accepts both 110 and 220 V. All you need is a power outlet adapter. BUT if your device (or its charger) supports only 110 V, do not plug it on 220, and vice versa.

This video was great! Love all the tips! Fun Fact: if you take a B-Complex after a wild night of drinking, you'll wake up without a hang over the next morning BUT if you take it BEFORE you start drinking, you CANT get drunk. Good tip if you want to drink but also want to stay coherent. I have tested both of these theories myself with my sister and my mom and they really work so I also travel with some of those.

I'm traveling the Pacific Northwest right now and I've packed almost exactly like you would. Except more warm things - I like to be able to mix and match fleece, rain jacket, light cardigan and parka depending on whether it's rainy, ice stormy, snowstormy, or just plain chilly, all of which I've experienced in the past three weeks. The parka is always on during travel so it never takes up bag space. 👌

Totally agree Lea. This adds extra weight. Product endorsement??? Best use an inexpensive lightweight RFID blocking passport sleeve. I love traveling light so I usually pack as little as I can in a small backpack. But sometimes they stop me at the airport and once I was almost denied entry into Canada when taking a bus from Seattle. They said I was suspicious because I didn't have a lot of luggage. WTF! Right phone is enough and one pair of shoes. I'm going to NYC so I did pack a pair of pj's to change into after shower so I don't smell like NYC when sleep. I am mostly packed for first weekend in November obviously few last minute packing have to do but that's stuff being used till I go. I also packed couple snacks because I wanted clean snack for 5hr event on Saturday I don't want make mess but worried about food. I've got 2 outfits packed that's it only 1 pair shoes that will be on my feet.

I Agree. This vid is less helpful if you're a regular traveller. I'm surprised by the amount of gear people pack & think they are minimalists. I'm trying to encourage women to carry less & still look stylish in my packing vids, lol. Ciao

Quite right! Immodium but also Gastro Stop, Hydralyte, malaria tabs etc. Minimalist packing needs to consider all aspects - if you are in the middle of nowhere & "shit happens" travel meds are better than heavy electronics:)
