What does your spring cleaning & tidying routine look like? 🤍

Extra care in neglected places like light fixtures. And washing places that usually only get a spray or dusting

This looks like my usual weekly cleaning routine. The things I tend to neglect that I add in for spring cleaning are washing curtains and dusting ceiling fans. Also changing the air filter!

Washing the curtains, cleaning the windows, baseboards and doors, cleaning the top of my tall closets and kitchen cabinets, dusting the hanging lamps. I also like to have a look at my basement and garden shed if they need any decluttering.

It’s the same every year- January through March, moaning and groaning about how my house needs a good clean but doing nothing. Then at some point in March we’ll get a nice SPRING day weather wise and I’ll feel super motivated but again do nothing. Then finally- at some time in April- I will throw all the windows open and CLEAN ALL THE THINGS!

I just deep spring cleaned this weekend and for me the hardest part is cleaning the windows. We've been having some really high winds lately and the amount of dust and sand that had accumulated on the windows omg I wanted to cry 😩 but it was so satisfying to have a clean space afterwards. I'm exhausted though lol

In my glass walled shower I keep a squeegee I bought at Home Depot to wipe down glass panels after every shower. I also bought Rainex (yes, its for car windshields) at Advance Auto and spray it inside on the glass... water runs down beautifully & then I squeegee and BOOM... NO WATER SPOTS. I only have to clean my shower once a week and it only takes a few minutes. After I cleaned the glass I spray Rainex again. Easy Peasy. Give it a try because it works well and saves so much time.🙂

Watched this video to get motivated to do my own cleaning since it's my least favorite thing to do. Something I would recommend to anyone is to remove old bedding and put on new bedding as the first thing in a cleaning process. I have found that changing my sheets gets a lot of dust in the air and makes it circulate through the air which leads to more dust building up on surfaces. So I would suggest doing your sheets first, waiting maybe 15 minutes or so until the dust in the air was able to settle a bit and then start cleaning the surfaces and vacuuming!

Hi, may I ask how often do yoy change your cleaning cloth throughout the process? It will accumulate dirt, of course, and I always find myself going to kitchen sink to clean, rinse and then left to dry the cleaning cloth I was using, then swap to a new one. I'll repeat the process, then swap with the one i previously left to dry. I hope that make sense. So back to the question, do you change yours, if so, how often? Is it advisable to do so?

Being a minimalist is really the game changer when trying to clean the house in a short time. But I have a question... I am trying to become a minimalist, but I can't escape the idea of "maybe I'll need that in the future". And in the country I live in it is very hard to recycle, so everything I throw will probably just add up to the pile of pollution. The mentalitly of "what if I need it later" it is wired in our society. My parents have it, their parents have it, so there is clutter everywhere. The problem is that there were actually a few times when I actually needed that thing so it came in handy not throwing it away when I first wanted. Could you do a video about this? What is an example of thing that we'll never need vs "maybe we'll need" in the future? I know there is a fine line there
@madeline9042
@madeline9042 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Visan! Not sure if you've ever listened to the Minimalists podcast, but they talk about the 20 minute rule for "emergency or just in case items". Meaning, if it's something you end up needing and it takes 20 minutes to drive to the store and is under 20 dollars to buy, you can feel free getting rid of that item. Often times, we don't even end up needing our just in case items, so this policy saves us a lot of space in our house!

I love your videos and have been interested in trying the infuse products since I saw you using them in a similar video before. After a little research these are the only non toxic cleaners I can find that can be used on granite, use reusable containers, and would simplify my cleaning system by quite a bit. I am getting mixed reviews on if they disinfect and was wondering if you have any thoughts on this or any product suggestions in addition to the infuse cleaners that you might use for disinfecting all surfaces including granite.

when I do a deep clean, I always start at the top and move my way down. For example in the kitchen I would start with the higher cabinets and clean the surfaces underneath them afterwards. And when it comes to window areas I start with dusting the blinds and then remove the dirt from the window sill because there's always a chance that dust from the blinds falls down on the window sill and makes it dirrty again. that doubles the work.

Spring Cleaning to me is something I do daily , because it's alot of work . I clean daily and deep cleaning on Saturday all day . When the beginning of a New Year is around the corner , I go on full speed cleaning mode . It's ridiculous , but I've always done this and my neighbors do the same . So , this includes smuging and aura cleansing as well. It's alot , I should record it just for fun.
