even though she claimed she was healed, she died from complications of diabetes. I am a firm believer that if we would do just what the doctor prescribes for any medical circumstance, that God will do the rest.He is that BIG OF A GOD!!!!!!!!

If somebody ever built a time machine....I would be the first in it!!! This is when Church was church!!!!! When people didnt care about being seen and or heard!!! But life was truly about serving God and pleasing him and being completely and totally satisfied with Jesus!!!!!!!!! Truly we need to go back to these days when like she said we were not only Sanctified but we need to be Satisfied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr Mattie Moss Clark was real, she lived a holy life you can still hear her realness( if there's such a word) in her singing or preaching. Saint like her in this day and age are very rare, she was indeed a perfect and a good example.

no she didnt play! i had the priveledge of working with madam clark during the late seventies and early-mid eighties, and no she was a tough task master. a beautiful spirit but serious about her music and her faith. honsetly she intimidated me..but i will love her forever for what she instilled in me.

I will forever treasure the time I sat under the teaching and directing of this great lady from the time I first came to the Holy Convocation at Mason Temple in Memphis back in the 1980's. I sat at the edge of the choir stand with my mouth open, because, coming from the Methodist church, I never saw the spirit of God move like it did. And I miss the "UNAC" conventions and the "A Song Is Born" recordings. I'll see you again, Sis. Clark - "in the morning"...

@TRUEDYNASTY90 LOL!!! MEAN is too harsh of a word. When sitting under the tutilidge of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, everything she did for God was as close to perfection as one could get. She was stern, firm and direct and felt that if she was going to do something for God, he deserved NOTHING less than the best. So yeah maybe she yelled, she threw a shoe here and there (LOL) BUT it was all to HIS glory and as you see for every shoe thrown, GREATNESS was the result and God was glorified.

Mother Mattie Moss Clark was the greatest! She birthed her babies into spiritual greatness! This family is truly gifted, anointed, blessed and highly favored. Elder Elbert and Mother Mattie must have been so pleased with the teachings that they instilled in their children. God bless the Clark Sisters, Brother Leo and the rest of the Clark/Moss legacy.

R.I.P. Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. You are truly missed. The Legacy Lives On. Every one of her children received one of her talents. They can all sing, play, preach, and direct, their butts off. Dorinda is the exact resemblance.

"Anybody need to sing under the anointing of god is the people that filled with the holy ghost." Dr. Mattie Moss Clark (4:38). That is what the gospel music should be about, saved people singing about the gospel. Too many phony people in the choir and some 'gospel singers' are not saved, and they need to stay away from it until they give their life to God and be saved! Gospel music is not like any other music. This music is about God, and it should not be played with!

Dr. Clark was indeed a true Woman of God. In her life she went thru alot of situations that tried to stomp out the spirit and anointing God gave her. But her heart was in the right place. Many leaders didnt cater to women going forth in ministry as well in our history. It just wasnt said. And she overcame those obstacles by leaps and bounds. Because the gift God gave her made room for her. I remember her indeed thru being around my grandmother. She was one of the people that reminded me so much of my grandmother.

Mrs. Clark was a talented, strong virtuous woman, she first, had the beautiful voice, I see where the daughters got their vocals from!!! Mother Clark laid a Godly foundation, she poured the spirit of GOD into her daughters. When you hear/see the Clark sisters, you see the fruits of a woman who spent her life serving GOD. Mrs. Clark, you gave to your daughters, what my mom poured/instilled in me, how to walk with CHRIST, the gift of a beautiful, peaceful life in the LORD!!!!! Goodnight my dearest mother, goodnight Ms. Clark!!!!!!!

I loved Dr. Clark but the thing of it was she would have still live longer if she had a just do what the doctors told her to do and take her medicine I know she had faith that God would heal her but he didn’t heal her here on earth yes he healed her in heaven now she don’t have to suffer no more the same with my mother if they were just listen to the doctors and take the medicine like they were supposed to they would still be here today

From what I have read she was a wonderful person and a decent mother. I say decent because God tells us none of us are good because of this flesh. If I'm wrong correct me...saintified means seperate from the world. If I misspelled any words it's because I'm human. I do believe she loves the Lord no doubt!

Yes , that is true is separated voice like it had not been done before. there have always been parts but the way choirs sing now in gospel music is a result of DR clark. choral music is not separated into parts the way dr clark did it. She was an original.

I'm curious as to what technique you're referring to, because theflowingtruth's statement is accurate in saying that choral part singing is much older than gospel music, and I was under the impression that Dr. Clark was the one who introduced that to this particular genre.
