I've used the knee pushup (variations) as progressions for diamonds, explosives, and archers. I can say from experience that they work very well for progressing.

Pro tip. If you are good at knee pushups and want to go for regular but you can barely do one rep, go up on knees and down in regular push-up position. Muscles are stronger going down than going up so you can benefit from that this way

This is why it infuriates me when the gym bros treat pushups like some sort of basic beginner exercise. No it is not. It took me 3 years to get 3 sets of 10 horizontal push ups with good form and full slow and controlled range of motion and another year after that to do it on the rings. I was doing inclines for years and years. Granted I'm 6 ft 11 and was obese when I first started but still... Push ups are a thoroughly humbling and effective exercise when done properly. Most people I know who can do 20 plus have terrible form and do half reps. Full push ups are no joke. Hell... None of the basic calisthenics compound movements are. Especially as tall as I am.

It took me only 6 months, but maybe due to muscle memory. I used a low bench under my stomach, so I would not fall on my face.

Try to make a pushup slower than usual and i promise you that it will be really heavy. People should never underrate the pushup.
@AlejandroRamirez-ju9rj3 жыл бұрын
As I began with push-ups I never did any easier variations like kneeling push-ups, incline push-ups, and wall push-ups I just did 5 push ups, never went all the way down, and my form was wasn’t as good. So I went to KZbin how to do a push-up and I saw all I was doing wrong. Then I guess 2 or 3 weeks later maybe 4 I did push-ups and my brother was watching and he said my form was actually good but i still couldn’t go down but I was glad. Then after a month I could do 1 rep going all the way down. After another month I did 10 reps. Then on New Year’s Day I did 20 reps. Now 2 days ago I could do 30 push-ups now I am now focusing on diamond push-ups and just found this video and I’m 11.

I love this channel. Seriously. It's the only channel, that tells you everything you need to know to be a beginner. Real beginner who doesn't know shit. Without any "bro" bullshit, where someone calls themselves a beginner, when in fact they are working out in any area like box, wrestling, gymnastics, weight lifting, etc. Just pure content for fatties like me who cant hold bottle of pepsi in my hand cuz im getting too tired. I just love this channel.

BaseBlocks told me my discount code can’t work on any pro equipment. GSP won’t allow it (he specifically had that written in the contract). So I’m on the fence about even reviewing it. I mean, I want to, but I also can’t get you all a discount, so… kinda sucks.

I can do knee push ups so should I skip all of the incline pushups? Or would it be more effective to start from say 25-45 degree pushups?
@michaelhoffman1165 Жыл бұрын
What sort of surfaces are usable for this? I can do 25 on the kitchen counter (3ft) , but it's hard on a char (< 2 ft) so I need something in between - what would that be?? Is there some sort of adjustable surface that could work for this? The difference between a foot off the floor and the counter is big

I can probably do 5 + knee push ups but there is a pain in the muscles in the shoulder -- this is another limitation I need to figure out how to deal with - happens esp when I am close to the floor with all the weight on it - any suggestions here either?

push-up = chest, triceps pull-ups = back, biceps L-sit = core, hip flexors if you just add squats for the lower body you can work all the important muscle groups and get pretty strong and fit just doing those 4 basic movements and variations on them

@@helvete_ingres4717 I meant pulling during L sit I just wanna know if it increase my pulling strength (i wanna pull to my lower chest)
@helvete_ingres47173 жыл бұрын
@@rahimSM you're basically doing a pull-up while your core is engaged too. I'm not an expert but my thought is it will target your pulling muscles (back/biceps) more than a normal pull-up b/c it makes sure your core is not involved in the pull-up b/c it's already engaged in the L-sit hold (core muscles do play a part in the standard pull-up, push-ups etc.)
