I have three modtac covers two u-rac and one m-rac. Be aware the u-rac do not fit all guns well. Bought one for a pws piston rifle and it turns out the height over bore of the top rail on that pws is slightly taller than a standard ar 15. So my suppressor is not centered when covered in fact it touches on the bottom making the cover useless for that rifle. My other u-rac was for an older model blackout defense rifle. The hand rail on that isn't flat at the front so the u-rac mounts but it is pushed forward enough that I can't manipulate the collar lock of the suppressor. I'm going to have to chop the front of the rail to make it flat to get a better mount. Also the modtac covers have jumped significantly in price recently.

As long as they are the OTM style bullets like sierra matchkings they work fine. The polymer tipped ones can be a little long sometimes. 69gr bullets have very similar ballistics as the 77gr so if your looking for ammo options dont sleep on those. The 5.56 case isnt large enough to push the 77gr bullets fast enough to have a game changing advantage.

I've had strange luck with 62gr PMC. Out of the 7 ammos I grouped when I built my Precision ar I had green tip grouping 1.1 MOA. Guess my barrel likes it more than most. Beat out Federal 69gr .223 and 77gr sierra match kings. It's a FN 16in cold hammer forged barrel, I was always curious how it would translate to the same barrel but in 18in. Definitely pays off to test out your range ammo and see how the rifle likes it. I happily bought more green tip after that for back up. Other than that, the standard AAC 77gr OTM got me sub MOA. for $11 a box, its been a no brainer for me, first round hits out to 700yds. Just all depends on what your barrel likes, it varies so much.

Love your channel and videos. Where did the GPR misnomer come from? Why would someone call a carbine a General Purpose Rifle? Something is off with that naming convention and it needs to go away. 24” and longer is rifle territory, with some 24” lever guns even considered carbines back in the late 1800s. 1903, 1917, M1 Garand all had 24-26” barrels. M1 Carbine had a 17.75” barrel. M-14 had 22” barrel with long flash hider. M16 had 20” barrel. Colt 605 was the first Colt carbine in the AR-15 family and had a 15” barrel (I have 2 of them). Colt 653 M16A1 Carbine had a 14.5” barrel. 723 and 727 had 14.5” barrels, which were then superseded by the 14.5” M4A1 and M4 Carbines. Maybe a Multi-Purpose Carbine is more appropriate for 14.5” Carbines with higher power optics. None of the Carbines are Rifles of any sort though.
