As a 45 year old man I appreciate this video on many levels. 1. I don't have time to actually watch whole movies, so someone making them bite sized and being funny while doing it is nice. 2. I get to see a the physique of an older guy that Hollywood says is good looking. Gives me something to work towards when I hit the gym. 3. I feel like I understand the character, something I don't get from most movies.

You’d be surprised. If you find a woman who has been hurt before and has her guard up or trust issues, show strength in public and towards her friends and be confident and assertive without being overly masculine or toxic and also being able to make fun of yourself and don’t take yourself too seriously. Then, in private, once you know she has feelings for you don’t be afraid to open up and show your weaker vulnerable side. Don’t be overbearing with it. It works extremely well.

[Sincerely] I enjoyed how the review covered the scene where Lola accused Nick of, "not being into women because he's gay, and he welcomed the excuse to get out of the situation," without having to accuse the movie of somehow being homophobic, or being from "another time past."
@zacharylortie27862 жыл бұрын
Well I think if they accused the movie of being homophobic, it would make them look ridiculous. Being gay is the perfect reason not to date the opposite gender 😂
@reversev97782 жыл бұрын
@@zacharylortie2786 But it’s not the only excuse. If you got ghosted by someone and start accusing them of being gay, that is homophobic and narcissistic. You’re essentially saying the only reason that they might not like you is because they aren’t into your sex.
@zacharylortie27862 жыл бұрын
@@reversev9778 I would call it narcissistic, but not homophobic. If she was derogatory & called him a faggot, I would say you’d be correct to accuse her of homophobia. In this particular case, she said he was gay & proceeded to hug him after he accepted her conclusion. This shows she accepts gay men & isn’t against that way of living. The accusation of narcism is right though in my opinion, simply because she couldn’t think of any other reason as to why he isn’t interested anymore. She could’ve accused him of being bored in her presence or cheating.. but maybe that’s a part of her character.. just seeing the good in people. Who knows 🤷🏼♂️
@reversev97782 жыл бұрын
@@zacharylortie2786 I get what you’re saying, but I just see it through a slightly different lens. I would say it matters more that her connotation conveyed that a gay person can be the only flaw in her relationship. We both agree that it’s obviously narcissistic, but I’d argue to say it also shows homophobia simply because she could’ve gone to any other conclusion. Although I do see what you’re saying about it also showing her acceptance of it. To me, it just seems to be more of an underlying homophobia that she maybe doesn’t even notice.
@zacharylortie27862 жыл бұрын
@@reversev9778 It could very well be an unconscious bias that she has as a result of her characters upbringing. I appreciate the different perspective & I’m happy to know I provided another perspective for you to see it from as well. One thing that I just considered as well is the time frame in which the movie is set. This was a time where homophobia was rampant & many gay people were in the closet. It could very well be homophobia, but I guess we’d have to interview the director or the actor who portrayed this character to know for sure
@NCR_Colonol2 жыл бұрын
Coming from a male perspective I think women do in fact think different and tbh I feel like the only wrong thing with this movie is that it makes it seem difficult to look at it from their perspective when truly it isn’t- Obviously you’ll never truly understand but to put yourself in their shoes all you have to remember is that they are human to.

@miriamweller812 Жыл бұрын
No, not the case. PEOPLE think different, that's an individual difference. On top of that you got gender roles, which force people into certain behaviour. If a man would speak and beheave like we want women to behave, this will instantly fall back onto him, same the other way around (but less, because feminity isn't negatively defined like masculinity = what is already seen as typical for women can't be acceptable anymore for men). Women put on an even bigger facade than men. If you could really look into many women's thoughs, most men would just be shocked by that. This movie was a comedy, so it didn't go into that territory, used a macho as main char and only touched the disgusted thougts women had about him. But this would go MUCH further and not just about men who kind of had it coming.

At first I was like “wow, he’s really dedicated to his job!” Then I remembered the backstory and realized, no, he’s just a theatre kid who decided to major in business

On one hand, I can't believe there are some men still out there who think like this. On the other, I can't believe there are women out there who think all men are like this just because of a few bad experiences. I had a bad experience with my manipulative ex, but that doesn't mean I think all men are manipulative assholes. You can't tell guys not to paint with a broad brush when it comes to women then do the exact same thing to men

Women think all men are like this because a select few are getting all the women. I solved that for you, you can thank me later.
