I commend both Ford and Chevrolet for making such awesome cars. For a long time, American cars had a reputation for only being fast in a straight line. Now, they compete and beat European and Japanese rivals. The lap speeds of the Dark Horse and the Z06 are simply amazing, especially for their weight.

They could only feed us slop for so long lol. We've come a very long way in the last 15 years especially, when most American brands thought a sports car was just a coupe with wacky styling and a mediocre engine. 😂

To be fair, American cars are built for American market. We Americans, well not me, I drive a Mazda3 awd hatchback, we like brute cars. We kinda like it rough around the edges, not to serious, but wildly entertaining. Europeans like their cars to scalpels. We Americans like our cars to be machetes. Ever did some yard work with a machete? You'll know what I'm talking about.

Man, this thing is a monster, I can't wait to see how fast it is with some downforce at work too! Once I have a place to live where I can pull my S197 out of storage, a full Steeda workover has been high up on my list for years now to make it more fun on the street!
@Grimace4275 ай бұрын
I've been modding Mustangs since 2011 starting with the S197 then later with the S550 and I've worked with both Steeda and BMR. Their products absolutely transform the car whether you are racing on the track, dragstrip, or just cruising backroads. One big thing to note is you do not need to spend $10k for the package described in this video, I have a feeling that cost comes from the in-house installation and registry. The actual parts are maybe $1500-2000, when not including dampers and wheels/tires and are relatively easy to install at home. What I really want to see with the S650 is some weight reduction mods; lightweight wheels/tires, fixed bucket seats(with removal of rear seats), CF hood, CF driveshaft, two-piece brake rotors, and whatever else the pros can come up with.
@CoyoteAUS5 ай бұрын
Relocate battery or use a light weight one and add a light weight bmr or steeda k member as well.
@Grimace4275 ай бұрын
@@CoyoteAUS Agree on the battery, but be careful on the k-member as the lightweight versions were intended for drag racing and not track racing. If they have track versions then that would be great, especially the rear subframe which is rather beefy from the factory.

Just test drove a Dark Horse this Saturday (from Autopolis like Mischa) and loved it! What surprised me the most was the very decent handling, the steering and the brakes. Interior quality is ok and acceptable (I am a BMW guy). But the sound of the v8 is a symphony on its own. The car is worth buying just for the soundtrack. Amazing ! Now I don’t know what to buy between a GT and a BMW M2…. Different cars, different philosophies. Car won’t be my daily but a weekend car.

Interesting about the sound. I find this 5.0 V8 to be very uninspiring despite being naturally aspirated. I'm in the minority but its soundtrack would be why I wouldn't buy it. I think the best recent ford V8 was the voodoo found in the GT350. Best american V8 today in my opinion is the 5.5 V8 in the C8 Z06. Anyways I prefer the sound of the current M2/M3/M4 over this sound. Buddy has the current M2 and its nice. You are right about both being different cars. Its really just about the personality you want to deal with for your weekend dancing partner! Either choice is solid though.

@@Sonic_1000 I mean that's cool, I'm glad you've found the means to do that. Still doesn't change the fact that wanting rolls-royce steering in a sports car is odd to say the least. I'd definitely pursue what exactly the details are there, because that could be a nice piece of "manufacturer" support.
