**A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THIS VIDEO** So… this is a strange situation and I'm not entirely sure how to handle it, but the TLDR is: I was mislead! This myth is fake! This site explains that many "Lenape" stories are actually misattributed, cobbled-together stories that muddy the waters of the actual Lenape cultural heritage: nanticokelenapemuseum.org/learning-center/curriculum-guidelines/1347/non-historical-stories-and-prophesies-fiction-and-fairy-tales/ I feel like an absolute dingus for participating in citogenesis. I'm gonna take this as a learning experience and recover in my shame corner for a hot minute. 😓 -R

Ofcause is we talk cultural regions and not geographical regions then the Abraham is religions are ENTIRELY non European and nether is Asian mysticism. It did end up with the west following an abrahamic religion but that religion is suddenly not European in any way that make sense.

@@derpionderpson1424 Hey fair enough, but I was mainly referring to how it's mostly incongruent with Greek, Roman, later Christian, Balkan, Celtic, and Norse mythologies; which make up by far the largest part of European mythologies. While it's true that Christianity originates from the Fertile Crescent, which is _technically_ in Asia, it's had an enormous amount of cross-pollination with the various European religions and folklore, to the point there isn't much Arabic left in it. Especially not since pretty much the entirety of the past millennium has been spent by Christians actively trying to distance themselves from Moorish and Arabic cultures on account of the bitter religious wars that have been fought between them.

@@TheRachaelLefler OFC they ate the meat. They're omnivorous predators, and delight in eating insects. And yes, they sometimes also eat their eggs. It's a problem, and ones that do are often turned into food. I should know, my mum raised chickens for a while. She decided she prefered ducks, who didn't suffer the egg problem IIRC.
@gnarthdarkanen74645 жыл бұрын
@@TheRachaelLefler, yeah... I've kept chickens (for eggs primarily) before... and worked on a few farms with them... Originally (for those actively keeping, or experienced) it's a bit of a "goof" about them. Chickens aren't known for sense... and are regularly seen eating dung... including their own. Normally, yes... they are more predatory scavenger types... AND just for clarity... MOST of the time, a chicken eating eggs has a calcium deficiency... usually readily resolved with a supplement to the feed-stock... Since they're generally predatory, there's a need for protein too (eggs are high in that)... SO the common practice of spreading corn for them isn't exactly optimal. A popular method of harvesting chickens for eating eggs might seem effective, but in my experience, it's more of a good way OUT of the chicken business. ...just to be reasonably clear... BUT mostly, I was riffing on chickens as opposed to crow for the "appetizing" feature... ...AND to be fair, crow isn't terrible, but for the trouble of hunting and stalking a bird... it's really not worth it. ...BUT I've said the same about pidgeon consistently, and people still go after them, too... so... there's that. ;o)
