Do the cells that are being cloned have both antibodies and antigens, and why would this be an advantage to the cell?
@riemashanaachandragantha46559 ай бұрын
the cloned cells are antibodies with the antigen inside I think. this is an advantage because the antibodies have the antigen to the virus and are specific so can detect and destroy the virus quickly- a faster immune response.

hi miss!! just wondering, does agglutination only happen to bacterial cells? also, would it do anything to reduce the pathogen damaging body cells as they are clumped together and not so spread out around the body etc..? and last question, I don't think its on the spec, but in some things I've read it mentions 'antibodies neutralise antigens' - what does this entail? thanks so much!!!
@MissEstruchBiology3 жыл бұрын
Hello, Great questions! Agglutination will with any antibodies regardless of what it is bound to, including if it is just an allergic reaction to pollen for example! Agglutination can prevent some damage. This is because whilst the pathogen is bound and trapped with the antibodies it is unable to bind to/enter the host cells so it cannot damage the cell or release toxins into the cell. Neutralisation is referring to the point above. While pathogens are bound to antibodies they are unable to bind to host cells and release toxins, so in this sense, we say they have been neutralised. I hope that helps :)
