Hello everyone, in today's video I will be discussing the very recent disappearance of Brett O’Grady, who went missing on October 14, 2021 in a wooded area on the east end of Ottawa, Ontario.
Brett is 35 years old, roughly 5'8" tall, medium build. He has brown hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a purple wolf logo, dark jeans, and navy shoes.
His red and black Pure Fix bike was found in a wooded area on the east end near the Ottawa River. Searchers have gone day and night and haven't found anything but the bike.

I just went on Reddit and read the posts about this. Brett’s cousin is taking the lead on this. Some things he confirmed were: The police have confirmed that Brett left his phone at home. Brett was seen (apparently on camera) in two different locations in town since his disappearance. Confirmed by police. One area was near the cemetery where his mother was buried; his cousin asked that someone drive through the cemetery. Brett’s employer, Shopify, hired someone who is an expert in searching for a missing person. They are searching the lake and numerous land searches have been done. There are many posts on there from friends and coworkers. It sounds like a tight knit community. Posts have been very respectful. They have apparently plastered Ottawa with flyers about Brett. Some past employees of Shopify have stated that it is a tough place to work and not “mentally healthy”. They said that Brett’s department is very competitive. One thing was mentioned that I found very interesting. If a person is feeling depressed or just needs to get away, they will usually go to a place where they feel safe or maybe a place that brings them comfort. And this “place” could be somewhere from their childhood. I hope they find him soon. This is a very sad case.

It is not deep woods. It is lightly wooded with many trails that people walk dogs, run, cycle. There is a main trail that is maintained that runs alongside the Ottawa River. From downtown to east or west along the river. I was out searching today on my own. The only searchers officially out today was this Search and Rescue boat in my AVATAR. A dog on board was hard at work.

I live in Ottawa and this case is so mysterious. We’re a little “big city”, pop. only 1 million and it’s not very common for someone to go missing here. I'm within the Ottawa area. thank you for posting! I had no idea and am unsure as to how an Ottawa area resident wasn't aware of this. as I would have tried to help however I have reposted this to Facebook and sent to some people here in hopes that someone somewhere knows something..... its so very sad! Also on a side note I appreciate your channel as it brings attention to cases that are not always well known about, plus it helps to be reminded to be mindful and not become overly confident when interacting with mother nature and all she has to offer. I've taken my children camping in areas such as Bay of Fundy at Wolf Point area of Hopewell, as well as many provincial/National parks across a few provinces. I've camped alone and loved my time; however, ensuring one has accessed and implemented a thorough plan in preparation for the worst is critical as you never know, but that's the fear...you don't know,. thinking upon the knowledgeable skills men in forestry and parks that have gone missing, how can one really truly prepare. we need more people to come together and continue doing what your doing, so that all are mindful not only of their surroundings for their own wellbeing but also to be aware when in the wilderness , doing our diligence to help our fellow friend who may be lost in an area any one of us should come across.

Could he have secretly met with someone? Maybe the bike ride was just a ruse to meet with someone. I hope phone and computer is being checked. Also maybe the bike was just put there by the killer. Or --- maybe this is his way of escaping his present life. People sometimes find that they need to escape their lives for a variety of reasons.

The use of social media to help these families is a good thing; but sometimes the abuse and insensitivity is mind boggling. As a parent, I can’t imagine how difficult this must be… so sad. I know people say this was unusual behavior but we never know what someone might be going through or how they’re feeling emotionally. I always first think foul play in cases like this. There are some really strange people sometimes in the woods and I have seen some of them. I think to rule out foul play may be premature. If they found him, or some of his clothing, etc.that would be understandable.But they haven't found any of that.I sincerely hope they find him. Hi Bryan. I know Brett's bike was found leaning against a tree so in my opinion he probably was the one who put it there so likely not abducted or injured. Also his sweater, a bag and a pillow was found beside his bike. Do you know if the pillow was from his home and was there anything in the bag?

May Brett be found and the family can go fwd with ease and strength. I used to be so shocked by the sheer numbers of ppl missing while hiking/walking etc. In Bret's case it is different I think, but a lot of people think going for a hike alone is OK, but accidents/heart attacks/stalkers/creepy animals that happen to be in and around the wooded areas/forests are endless, its been an eye opener for me esp the 411 cases that Mr Paulides has so diligently covered. Anything can happen out there, if you are/are not equipped with the right equipment be aware at all times. We all blessed with technology today where research of any camping/hiking trail can be done quite easily before going out into the wilderness. Very unnerving to say the least.
