if you pause the video at 9:44 and see the way squares are laying on the mat, don`t you think they could make a bigger block, perhaps hexagonal star, so you could lay them differently and mix the two?

So beautiful!!!! I want to make this quilt, but I don’t have that triangle wedge template. What other kind/size can I substitute for it? Thanks.
@MrsGraphiteGal2 жыл бұрын
The angles are really weird numbers of you check their website but I think you'd be ok at with a 60° triangle ruler. Your need to do a practice block though to get the right sizes to work. I know when I do similar on EQ, you get some really odd angles, I either print a template for those of change it to more friendly numbers of I'm doing lots of blocks.

How do you stabilize the cuddle fabric for I know it is stretchy? I really like the quilt I downloaded the Pdf.
@jennydoan575 жыл бұрын
Joy Summers the Cuddle fabric we use only has a one way stretch so when you load it on the long arm, make sure your stretch is side to side and not top to bottom and just be careful not to stretch.

I just started this, finally...and I have to laugh at the 'quick and easy' part...my brain has not yet learned how to lay out the cut pieces to sew the blocks correctly! Right now it is taking me an hour to get a pair cut, sewn, trimmed, sewn, etc! I sure hope that improves! I figure it is just helping keep my brain exercised! Still love the pattern and the fabrics...

I have s lot of triangle rulers, could I use one of them instead of the triangle used in the film ?
@DH-qz2so5 жыл бұрын
You probably could use a different triangle template, but you would need to consider 1) the 'degree' of the triangle that you have may change the look and 2) the top of the completed triangle is 1/2 inch away from the top of the completed block for that 'floating' look
@hollyminer11645 жыл бұрын
I, too, am wondering if I can get by without another template/ruler. There is a reply about the size of ruler in another comment. The base is 3.75" and the height is 4.5". It would have been nice to know the angle too, but I am going to review my triangles to see if I have something. Probably not as the common size is 45 degrees.
@kimmitchell7145 жыл бұрын
Just measured my 45 degree diamond ruler and I believe it would work. Going to give it a try.

For the trimming step, it would be much better to use a 6 inch square ruler and place it on top of the triangle block. That way you can centre the triangle and you have much more stability with cutting as you will be cutting off the edge while holding onto the block, not cutting off the block while holding onto the edge. Great quilt. TFS.
