...and you know it's all planned for effect. I've seen other performances of hers when after executing an insanely long note...impossible for most...that at the end of a 15 second note, she actually exhales! She could've held that note even longer! She has total control of her breath at all times

First time she sang this song was in 1991(its cover not her song). She never sang it the same way twice. Recently she said that after all this time she can call it "her" song because something happens to her everytime she sings it that she cant explain. "Caruso" is another great song that she covers. Caruso with Adagio and this song is what we call Lara's triology.

It is almost imperative to truly appreciate this performance if you find the version with the English subtitles. For us, it totally enhances our understanding of the anguish that Lara is actually feeling as she goes through those lyrics. Notice how long it takes her to come out of the depths of emotion as the crowd applauds. A truly magnificent performance.

Lara Fabian is a lyric soprano as you might possibly noticed she is not just like any random singer , she is above and beyond what we encounter daily . Her experience and technique are far superior than any other diva we might love . Her voice has so wide range and so much agility to it , while her breath control is what makes her even more powerful . Pronuancing words so crystally clear is another talent of her's and of course she is "theatrical" and emotional all the way through . She is unstoppable , she is gorgeous and she is humbled , it doesn't get any better than this really !!!

Lara has been the best singer since she appeared..she hasn't been recognized and valued for reasons I cant explain. In my channel dedicated to Lara and biggest fans, i am doing interviews recently to have opinions about it. It's all a theme that must be analized. The song I'm Sick is inspired by a real heartache of Serge Lama, the story of a long secret relationship. In 1969, the singer met Michèle Potier in Chamonix. Love is a certainty, but they are not free either: in 1968 Daisy Brun married her press secretary, she is married and the mother of a little boy. They love each other in secret for several years and promise to regain their freedoms, but Michèle hesitates and eventually flees and settles in Morocco for professional reasons. I know that the captions are not always the correct words but it was enough that I understood. Music affects me in many different ways even when I don't understand the words. I'm not sure why or how that happens but to say that music is a universal language and that is what I understand. Have a wonderful Sunday and week ahead.

Typical first reaction to a Lara Fabian live show (especially from that era). Nowadays Lara is somehow quieter on stage. Still an awesome voice and technique, but somehow less powerful in her rendition. Late 90s/early 2000 Lara was a stage beast. A real interpret more than a simple singer. Enjoy this concert but also the 1999 “En toute intimité” show or her 2002 live concert in Paris. Some real emotional gems there. Lara is one of those artists who has a deep connection with her audience and fans. As she said one day, her fans might love her more for her personality, her simplicity but her wholesomeness than for her songs.
