Mistakes You Should Not Make on 4c Natural Hair: Causes Knots & Breakage #NapChat
Ever mess up your natural hair and do a mistake or mistakes u should do to your 4c natural hair. I still make mistakes and in this video I show you one or two I know better not to make. I had a busy week so my natural hair suffered for it. By wash day I had dryness, tangles, single strand knots, and some breakage. 4c hair is easier when we keep consistent with healthy hair habits. I slacked on mine and I was quickly remind to get my 4c hair regimen back on track! So with my 5 step wash day routine I was able to recover.

Finally a natural on youtube who doesn't put on a ton of makeup for her videos and doesn't have her hair looking perfect in every video. When you say you woke up like this , you actually woke up like this. You didnt twist and then take your twists down and claim to woke up like that.

NappyFu TV I've been natural for 2 years I big chopped and had an inch of hair on my head i can't really say how long my hair is now cuz the sides are like 5-6 inches the front and the middle are like 8-9 inches and the back is like 7 inches . I don't understand why it doesn't grow equally but that's not why I'm commenting.the thing is, I moisturize my hair with water then seal it with Shea butter i always get when I go to Nigeria but my hair is always so dry and it gets dry right after I moisturize it.if you have any advice I would like that very much

Im not African but I have 3b/c hair and I love your videos. My sisters hair is almost 4a almost kinky and longer but still not as gorgeous as yours. So natural, so refreshing to see! 4c hair types can always do any braid or style and I swear it stays for days and looks gorgeous! My 3b/c hair starts getting flat af haha love you! Even though I don't have 4c hair but I have been making my sister watch your videos and they have helped her so much since only we have curly hair in our family lol Take care and keep slaying! And to all gorgeous African sisters only you have 4c hair, Hair of the queens, always be proud of your beauty

We supported 3c and 4a women on KZbin and convinced ourselves that black women's hair looks like mixed women's hair. and this is the result. frustration. We never realized how little sense it made to align with women who already had hair that reflected beauty standards and just CHOSE to perm their hair. And now we have a warped belief about natural hair. And we made those loose hair women famous. We thought we went natural for self love. Did we?

I have 3c 4a hair, and my hair doesn't look like I'm mixed.. I mean the curls in the back are defined without products, but the top of my hair is really thick so those curls appear 4a/4b, i have a fro and everything after a wash.

Shes right..I have 4c hair and it is so hard to take care of to the point where i hate it sometimes...I grew up with relaxed hair, and I always went to the hair salon. Now that im natural, I have so many knots and tangles, and my hair breaks off so badly and spits in the middle :( ive tried so many products and none work for me. I don't know what to do anymore *sigh*

Miss Mae i am the same way. to top it off, i have horrible allergies and seb dermatitis...so going natural has become hell. i cant use most of these products. i have found some natural hairstylists. i am thinking that if someone can look at my scalp and show me something other than using the dryong shampoos i have to use for my scalp issues... i might can make this work. i only moss relaxed hair when it comes to trying to detangle my hair. i am about over the wigs...and weaves irritate my scalp so i am way over that.

I've spent the weekend "loving" on my hair to get back on track and make up for the disrespectful tangles that I had from sleeping on my hair without doing my nightly mist and jumbo twist. Hi, I think I have just met myself! How refreshing it was to see and hear you. I have absolutely subscribed! Thank you for sharing the knowledge you have with us. I felt like I could breathe just a little bit better. I love your honesty and realness. Don't ever change. You are hope for us 4c'ers. When you showed us the tangles, I was like, "It's not just me!". I am now beginning a journey to learn and to take better care of my hair. I do not hate my hair, I love my hair, but I just haven't understood it. Oh wait, I understood it does what it wants and what it is supposed to do, I just have to listen to it. I was going to get locks again but was hesitant because I wanted my hair to be free. Now I know why the hesitancy, I was supposed to meet you. Thank you!

I FELL IN LOVE! Your honesty is inspiring. It's like a friend is speaking to me and we're both suffering together over our guilt-ridden tangled creation. I'm 3b but this is great advice, and you're just so fun and personable. 4c hair is glorious! Will definitely be checking out more! 😁

I've always hated my 4c hair. People say I'm blessed with it because it's SO LONG and thick and I took very bad care of it and straightened it so much. I'm trying to take better care of it now though and this video was super helpful.

Encouraged and inspired! I don't think I hate my 4c hair, but I'm definitely at a loss for how to take care of it and have it thrive healthily . That's a lot of hair advice out there but often times it's irrelevant. It doesn't bring life to my hair in the same way those steps work for others. But so by videos like this make be feel hopeful. Like I CAN do this!

After watching this video, this helped me understand why my hair has not being growing to the length I want it to be. I would braid up my hair about two days out of the seven day week and that's because I have to force myself to braid it especially after wash day and I would be super tired after all the school work I have that would cause me to stay up so late trying to finish it. I thought my hair would be much longer than what it is now after being natural for 2 years but now I see why it hasn't. It would be dry, not stretched, tangled for days, and the ends needed to be pampered and my hair is dyed a different color. But I appreciate you for uploading this to help me understand how to cooperate w/ my natural 4c hair. Thank you NappyFu

Thank you. I feel like I had to get a mini big chop because of my ends being rough. Although I put moisture and seal with shea butter my ends were raggedy and I had to have another inch cut off (3.5 inches in total). My plan is when I protective style to braid my hair all the way to the ends. Usually I don't. Hopefully this will help because I'm sick of having to keep trimming my ends 😡

Thank u for sharing. I'm going to send this video to my daughter who has 4C hair. Shes always complaining about it. when she puts it up in her puff, which is often, her hair gets dry and brittle. she will leave that puff on her head for a week without moister or comb out. I have been telling not to this for 2 years now. May after watching this it will knock some sense in her head. Thanks.

Can you please do a video about low vs high and normal porosity hair?. I am seeing more and more youtubers talk about the importance of knowing the porosity of your hair versus the texture. What are your thoughts?
@Cindy99765
@Cindy99765 8 жыл бұрын
It is important. People with low porosity hair, have hair that doesn't easily absorb products (they basically just sit on the hair so your hair may feel dry even after putting a lot of product), and when the hair does absorb the products, it holds onto that moisture. People with high porosity hair have hair that easily absorbs products, and sometimes, the product may just run right out. So, low porosity hair needs products like humectants that will help seal in moisture and use light stuff to avoid product buildup. They may think they need heavy products all the time, but they only need it from time to time. Some people with high porosity hair like products that are light but they may really need heavy products since moisture leaves their hair so fast.

+Cindy99765 No , thanks for responding! I did the hair porosity test with my hair in a glass of water. That hair sat on top of the water forever. I did it for 5 hours just to make sure, lol and it didn't budge. So I guess I am low porosity. But what do I do with that information? Does pre pooing work for me? Should I be deep conditioning weekly? In what order should I apply my products when I am trying a wash and go or a twist out to get the best results? That's what is so confusing.
@Cindy99765
@Cindy99765 8 жыл бұрын
yvette_d_ Prepooing does work for low porosity hair. Light oils like Argan oil or Moroccan oil is ideal, but occasionally using slightly heavier things like Shea butter and creamy leave in conditioners is good too. I like to lightly spritz my hair with water, finger detangle, comb with a wide tooth comb, apply my Shea butter based leave in conditioner, apply a small amount of Jamaican black castor oil, and then install my protective style.
