I loved this show. I was born in 1982, but loved watching the old classics like Mr Ed, Lassie, Andy Grifith, I love Lucy, Flipper, Bewitched, and Our Gang. My father was born in the late 40's so he would watch them with me on the weekends. Great memories.

I love watching Mr. Ed to this day...Alan Young an excellent comedian and Emmy award winner said "Bamboo Harvester" ...Mr. Ed's real name..was a gelding...and a very smart horse who ultimately started to mouth words after he saw the humans around him stop speaking.

Like dogs, they're very intuitive, remember things they've seen happen, quickly pick up on cause-effect patterns and, with a little patience, repetition, and positive reinforcement, learn what the humans want them to do. For example, there are many first person accounts from the old days of cavalry horses keeping their place in formation during maneuvers and correctly responding to the various bugle calls during battle long after their rider was no longer in the saddle. Wagon-pulling daily delivery horses such as used by the ice or milk man would quickly learn the route, walk it on their own, and make the correct stops without the human guiding them or even holding the reins. I've seen carriage horses such as in Central Park do this, too. The horse correctly walks the tour route on its own while the tour guide sits sideways in the driver's seat and talks to the tourists behind him or her and doesn't even hold onto the reins.

I honestly could go on but there isn't any point, you enjoy your modern film/television shows and I will stick to KZbin, Anime, Games and classic television/Movies.

Do you remember one of the stars in it? Try and Google it and keep rephrasing your search. You should find. Guess at the year it was made. Was it a donkey or a horse? Was it Francis the Mule which was made into at least 2 movies. Donald O'Conner was in one of them. About what year did you see this English movie? That would make a difference in your search.
