Hi! When I started editing the video I was like "Oh, this is gonna be short. I'll include this and two other songs from Wicked (you probs guessed it)" but there's so many riffs, I'll do each one separately next. Have a nice day 💜 (it's almost weekend!)

@@princecomputergames no offense taken!! lol. I'm editing the Defying Gravity still. It's definitely the next upload. But while yes the editing takes time, it's the research that takes a lot. I already did the research for all the different options (there were plenty) and I wrote it down on notes (lol) Now I'm putting everything together and fixing some clips and audio but at max is gonna take up to 5 days or less hopefully. I'm not even done with one section but I think it's gonna be the longest. Sorry for taking SOOOOOO long!!!😂💜

Edens riff she added reeeaaally serves the song, it’s not a distracting riff, it gives climax to the right part of the phrase. It’s such a smart choice I can see why others did it!

Yeah, I'm usually a stickler for sticking to the original score, but that F#5 in "I've never felt" is so beautiful as the last chorus.
@JosephJohnson-gu5fw4 ай бұрын
I agree that it should continue to be be standard fare for girls that prove they can do it. It really adds to the fantasy that it's her "I want" song. I don't care for riffing usually because people can overdo it and lose the texture of the piece. I almost don't care for the "melt" riff because it can really be a tad too "Look what I can do" and I definitely don't like the "Wizard and I" from that Alice Fearn performance. She sounds amazing and in a certain setting like a cabaret show id welcome that......but that's just out of texture for me. It doesn't feel like Elphaba would do that.

Saycon Sengbloh, Rachel Tucker, and Lindsay Mendez are my all-time faves. Saycon sings with so much EASY power and warmth; she's never labored and strident. I was done as soon as I heard Rachel's take on "I could melt" the first time. Lindsay is so precise and secure, and her vibrato is gorgeous. I had forgotten that Emmy had done the role, so it was a pleasant surprise watching her eat it up. I have always enjoyed Kerry Ellis's tone. Stephanie J. Block is a curious case as Elphaba: I know she OWNS every single one of these notes, but the score somehow doesn't fit her voice at all.

I understand keeping the consistency and integrity of the show-but these artists were selling even more tickets because of their brilliance and risk taking and creativity. I think the show was a little too restrictive when the Elphaba’s had an idea to add some (authentic ) spice to their performance. If it was a bad choice, have a discussion afterwards, but don’t stifle them. And don’t give them a note for continuing to breathe new life into this role.
