Great comparison breakdown, I’ve been thinking of incorporating Blender as also a 2D tool into my own classroom practice.

Thanks! It's a great program, and easy to install in classrooms because its open source! I'd be curious to hear how it goes for your students. What software are you currently using?

@@mr.h well, prior to the pandemic kicking-in, I was using Maya, Sketchbook pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and ArchiCad. During the pandemic, switched to sketchbook pro and Blender, due to students not having sufficient hardware to run Maya; animating in Blender is taking a bit of getting used to...:)

You can move drawing in Rough Animator without doing frame by frame. Make a cycle the translate the drawing to the last from of the cycle. For instance to move the drawing from first frame to other side of canvas on the horizontal, select the last frame of the cycle and then move the drawing over to the position you want it to finish.

Definitely love it on the iPad! I think my fingers are too fat for phone use!

Another disadvantage of Blender's grease pencil is that I found out you need a good graphics card to use it. If you're on a cheap pc or laptop it will crash on you with just light sketching.

great video , thanks. I absolutely love using rough animator. I keep trying to use more feature rich programs but always end up coming back to rough animator. Mainly as its just fun to use for me. I just wish the brush tool on ipad was a little bit more professional.

For linux users the only options are Blender and Krita. There is also pencil which is very basic. All free.

in the Adobe Animate program, there is the Symbol and Nested Symbol feature, which speeds up work very much, and I did not find anything similar to it in other programs. Is there a similar feature or ability in Grease pencil ?

Hey I was wondering if you could help me out with this. I bought roughanimator recently on pc, and when I try to draw really fast, there is a horrible stabilizer that is just a pain to draw with. Is there any way that you can take away the stabilizer

I have a question. I never make any animations in my life, but can I make my 2D cartoon animation just like Adobe Animate and After Effects. For example it is possible to make country balls animation with blender instead of using Adobe ?
@mr.h5 ай бұрын
I would rather use Blender than Adobe animate and after effects. It all comes down to your personal preference.

@@mr.h Thank you for giving me a bit of attention here. Could you please tell me a few most important reasons why you will chosse Blender over An and Ae ? I ask you this because as I said before I don't have experience with making animations yet and I see that a lot of animators on youtube use An and Ae.
@mr.h5 ай бұрын
I like Blender because you can mix 2D and 3D together in one program. It’s so much easier if your vehicles are 3D. I would say that Adobe Animate is easier than Blender but Blender has so much more to offer.

@mr.h Жыл бұрын
Hi there, you can use whatever tool you like to make films. What matters is if the workflow meets your needs as an artist. I would argue that Blender is better than Adobe Animate but some would disagree with me. Its all a matter of personal preference.
