Yeah Commander Legends gave pirates a massive buff, we have so many good, evasive pirates now that it's much easier to play Brass.

Your videos always entertain me! Also, I wouldn't concern yourself featuring a video with a player winning via a combo, because in this format, most decks are built around such win conditions! At least your channel features games that are interesting, and aren't finished by turn 5, due to someone burning their deck with a super expensive card for the win Keep up the good work.

8:16 couldn't you have tapped the Amoeboid Changeling to give the Merrow Reejery all creature types, which would give it Hexproof from the Lord of the Unreal and cause the Swords to Plowshares to fizzle? And if not then, you could have done it at 8:27 to protect the Lord of the Unreal from the Patron of the Vein ETB.

The majority of these games are filmed at game stores located around Ottawa, Montreal, and some older ones from New Jersey. The players are often shifting in and out, so it can be hard to keep track of them sometimes.

Nice job with the lab man win. It's three cards (Mind Over Matter, Azami, and the Man himself), so not too taxing on the build. Plus, Mind Over Matter is just a strong card, and Azami works really well in your tribal-everything deck. Extra kudos for such excellent use of Nykthos. It's one of my more favorite EDH lands and any deck than can abuse it is a win in my eyes.

Combo wins are fine, it's just that 90% of people who do combos can't think of more creative ones, so it's always the same boring thing.

Agreed. Combo wins are fine, but I've always found LabMan to be an exceptionally boring wincon. Nice to see Mistform bring one home though, I guess.

the issue is that often creative combo are also extremely fragile and require a lot of cards and setup, a lot of people won't bother to try something so unreliable and even fewer will manage to pull them off.

Docent of Perfection is an Insect Horror, not a wizard, so it should've costed 4 mana, not 3, and! You shouldn't have the blue to cast arcane denial to counter Kykar, so that misplay could've change the game significantly if you asked me. Otherwise, great content as usual!

I know you say that nobody wants to see a combo finish but I am a firm believer that games have to end. I always put an off switch in my decks. Doesn't mean that I build them to hit the combo and that's it but I do like to end games that have worn out there welcome.

I used to be a combo-hater, but after a few 4h+ games where every turn after the first two hours just went "draw, land, think, pass", I came to appreciate having one or two bouncing around in my deck, just to close out games like that. That's how Bitter Ordeal (+ Sculpting Steel) ended up in my Sharuum Affinity deck, how Rythm of the Wild (+ Murderous Redcap) ended up in my Lands matter Korvold deck, and how Umbral Mantle and Helix Pinnacle (probably not the most efficient, but meh) ended up in my Selvala stompy. As you probably figured out, I like playing commanders in an unusual fashion (read : surprisingly effective jank decks, for the most part), but having a good way of closing out the game that isn't "I swing at your face for alot" really saves a lot of time.

Nah, the only problem I have with combo (in a casual pod!) is when they happen and nothing happened before. So it's over before everyone had a chance of plyaing and have fun. That was a perfect time for a combo!

Storm is eh, rather play Kess for that. My kykar is incredibly fun to play. Enchantments and spells focused on tapping down creatures, there are quite a few synergies with that (Verity Circle and Blustersquall ends up tapping the table down and I draw +20 cards). And time twister effects. Shuffle hand and graveyard and draw 7 for everyone. Completely insane with smothering tithe out. Usually make 200 treasures a game. And end with a swarm intelligence + expansion//explosion or banefire to the domes for +100 plus.

Docent of Perfection is neither wizard nor merfolk, hence no discount from the Stonybrook Banneret. What's worse - that land you used to cast arcane denial right after that would not be untapped, invalidating the epic comback factor. Shame! *Ding-Ding-Ding* Shame!

I've always loved Kykar as a commander, and I never saw a strategy I hated in the deck until now. More seriously, I despise Storm decks because I find them FAR too reliable. Your spells cost so little and do so much that it's impossible not to be hard to deal with. The "ping on spell" effect just makes it even more frustrating. I really like Kykar as an Enchanter or Voltron commander though, because often casting the Equipments will generate enough mana via Kylar to pay the equip cost. Also Bird. Tweet Tweet motherlover. Sorry if I'm being incoherent and/or rude, it's past 3 in the morning where I am, and I'm exhausted. No harm meant.
