Sure, his wife is intelligent and quite attractive and yes, a catch, but then so is David (a catch). Where he lacks conventional good looks he more than makes up for with sense of humour and amazing success, and on top of that, humility and self depreciation to go with it. Is Victoria really that gorgeous and wonderful to men that she should be with Brad Pitt or something? They're a nice fitting couple I reckon.

The irony of this is that David's now wife is Vicky Coren who is, if anything, more talented, bright and beautiful. If you haven't heard the audiobook of David Mitchell's autobiography where he talks about Victoria, I highly recommend it. It is really very eloquent and moving.
