Garabedian articulates what survivors are confronted with after the unimaginable registers consciously with childhood sexual assault victims. I survived okay UNTIL someone asked if I was sexually abused as a child - that's after 55 years of being buried. That one question triggered my memory. A BLUEPRINT is used against me in my diocese and its cardinal. Add that humiliation to my rapes at 5, 6, 7 and 8 years old that were uncovered. They admitted the priest's foreplay was identified as grooming to my family. I didn't have a fighting chance for my formative years. Now they attack me because I was betrayed and forced to deal with this late in life. Try finding living victims so many years later. I ask what's the use in fighting this for the rest of my life? The world is blowing up. Why put myself through torment when my reality can stop forever? I called Garabedian and spoke directly. Because of its complexity and being in Canada, there is nothing he can do to help. Please remember that children that you love and protect are safest with you. As inspiring as his speech was, this victim is likely to fast-track peace because no one truly cares or has time for this.

While the Catholic Church considered minor or individual acts to be enough to treat persons with disgust, they allowed and in effect allowed these actions to go on though knowing about them but denying any positive occurrences to members of the organization while committing them themselves. The Apostles asked him how they should baptize. Jesus told him the way the Catholic and most Protestant churches that have no interest in Catholicism do it. It is the trinitarian way. The son is Jesus and Jesus is The Word that existed long before a book was written. The Word established a living Church with a teaching authority of living men who passed their authority down to successors to this day. Jesus says a lot of things those who think they know the Bible better not only ignore, but violate. Now they officially may allow abortion, gay marriage, etc. because they let in redefinitions of biblical marriage and other licenses while accusing Catholics of man made traditions. They like an American empire that has done as many evils, while accusing it of being The Roman Empire. I love my country and it has done much good, but it was not created by Christ with doctrinal infallibility and has done much evil. Only one institution has remained for 2000 years without officially changing its beliefs. The Church can and roll he restored, as it and its Jewish predecessor God also created always has been. The Jews will likely be restored as leaders of the Church God had to give over to us Gentiles that should have been the upgrade to Old Testament Judaism. I'm a Protestant Christian, and from my observation, the first objection that people always raise against Christianity especially in countries like India, is the invasions, conquests, looting, colonisation, and the ethnic cleasing that the Church is guilty of, when in reality what thier describing are the atrocities of the Roman Catholic church history, that has become an obstacle for us in evangelism, i have to always point out that not only were these other communities wiped out but also non-Catholic Christians that have also lost thier lives in these inquisitions, so it had nothing to do with Christianity, because even Christians were killed in these inquisitions, because they wanted to push the Roman Catholic Orthodoxy and eliminate anyone that believed in what they called "heresy", which is why i will never convert to Roman Catholicism, if i were to change my branch/denomination, i would rather become an Eastern Orthodox Christian, but never a Catholic because of thier bloody history, i can't defend it as a Christian.

If you include atheism, as an ideology regarding consequences of human behavior, the final advice of the lecture to religious people would be, "Just go TWO ideologies further, your current ideology, and mine". The majority of Catholics are pretty normal people. Let's not be ridiculous. There are definitely Satanic monsters and corruption in the church all the way to the very top however. I am thankful that I had a priest who as far as I know never had any scandal attributed to his name and as a result I never had to suffer what these victims did, nonetheless, just knowing about it resulted in me losing faith in the church and eventually distancing myself and temporarily becoming agnostic/atheistic/buddhist. It's a hyperbole to say the church and every last one of its followers participates or is in any way involved. The fact is that many people treat their religion as a social institution to fit in with their community and otherwise ignore it and as a result they bear no real reflection on the religion as a whole.

We all got lame catechesis in the first decades following Vatican 2 and previous ones had overzealous nuns , but there is a reason many faiths still have their kids in Catholic schools. It would be nice if just for the faith teaching, but they are safer and teach real subjects. A handful might be woke, but there are Chesterton Academies and others bringing back classical education. It does have homeschool resources, as well. You can go to one’s out of district and some have generous tuition deferments. You have to adjust to the times, sometimes. Otherwise, well, you have woke public schools getting your kid to get genitally mutilated without your knowledge and taking them away if you disagree. Think critically and less emotionally got your kids’ sake.

I saw a USA Today magazine about teachers being allowed to transfer wherever. Maybe we should end teaching. Maybe an institution you like is riddled with molesters, but it does not regularly stand against evils and has a leadership that can be envied by other powers and so yours is not infiltrated if it cannot be visibly removed. It was created with its leaders and followers in danger of their lives and, once free enough, sponsored and spread civilization. how many public schools call the victims liars? how many move teachers to other schools without notifying the police that a crime has occurred? How many schools pay for the teachers legal defense even after the teacher admits to sexually abusing children? how many school officials threaten the child's family to keep the child silent? How many schools send offending teachers to a treatment center, and then allow them back into the classroom to teach? These are all things that the RCC does with regularity.
