Why does Rawiri Waititi wear a hat, is there not a dress code in parliament

He allegedly received dispensation from Trevor Mallard to wear the hat as an honour toward his ancestors who fought in WWI. I kid you not. Why others in the house don't follow suit and wear caps, berets, lemon squeezers etc to honour their own ancestors as a form of sarcastic protest, is beyond me?

Gerry Brownlee is the most pathetic speaker ever ! Even Trevor Mallard was more effective. He has allowed the quick decline in standards that we see now. Grow some balls Brownlee and keep the opposition in check ,or resign.

We wouldn't have had that issue if we could defend ourselves But nooooo greens and Labour want to remove all our means of defense but leave their security with high class and high calibre firearms. The law abiding citizens got rid of their guns and all that has happened is an increase on gun crime. Time to allow us to defend ourselves and deal with the problem ourselves

Why does that man wear a hat inside parliament house. I was taught that a gentleman took his hat off when entering a building. Maori were introduced to hats via Europeans. So, their wearing of hats could be seen as cultural appropriation. Waititi then uses this appropriation to show disrespect to the house of parliament, the house of the people.

Why try and blame Police, if the Gang members are worried about the effect of raids on their families then don't commit the crimes leave the gangs and contribute to NZ society positively then there will be no worries. Blame only lies in one place and its not police carrying out their jobs!
